I'm enjoying this series, though it's maybe not one of my favorites. It's a little too insta-love for me to really win me over. But I did really like Dusty and Justin in this story. Weird for me to say, but they got a little too over the top sappy sweet for me in moments though. I appreciated Dust's patience with Justin and with his brothers. It was a pretty inevitable conclusion where things were headed in this story, but it did ultimately make me intensely curious to here more about middle brother. ;)

Overall this was a good continuation of characters that I like. I'll be happy to read the final book in the series and see how everything wraps up.

This is my favorite book in the series so far. I really loved the Dusty and Justin together and appreciated how slowly their sexual relationship built between them. I also appreciated the intense love and respect they had for one another throughout the book.
Another thing I really liked was the deep love and friendship between all of the members of the band. I liked the way they support and looked out for one another.
I hope there will be more stories written about these characters. I really hope both Dusty's brothers and Andrew will all get there own story. *cough* Zack and Andrew together *cough*

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.75 Stars

Dusty is the only Dark Angel left to find true love but boy it’s a difficult task. He is the least comfortable member of the band when it comes to talking about feelings, sex and relationships. He is not attracted to gender particularly but more the individual personality. He may give Angel and the boy’s grief about their relationships but under all his grouchiness and subterfuge he is lonely and quite sad. With a very religious mother making vile comments and threats he would never be able to admit being attracted to a man. His brothers are the most important people in his life and he will do nothing to risk his relationship with them.

Only Dusty would find the love of his life just as he is leaving the country for months on tour. After spending hours talking to J about anything and everything and a rushed grope in the bathrooms the next few months are filled with texts and emails and a longing to see each other again. He has found the girl of his dreams!

J has been to hell and back and is still living with events from the past. Meeting Dusty was a dream come true but also one that seems too good to be true. After months of keeping in touch any way possible the night has finally arrived for them to meet up again. When the concert lights dim and they meet back stage Dusty is left shocked to his core and J is left devastated. The was huge but did Dusty really not know deep down? The band rally round him and offer him support but he is left truly heartbroken.

True to form Dusty fell for personality and finds it impossible not to track J down and work things out. They are both a bit broken in totally different ways and I loved their trepidation in moving onto all things sexual. For J the reason for this is stark terror and dealing with flashbacks but for Dusty it is far more complicated in some respects, he takes everything so seriously about himself and now he has to worry about his partner, he is filled with doubt and anxiety.

There are some great glimpses of Angel and Dare along with Robin and Josh and as always Z treats us to a little bit of kinky naughtiness. It is like being entertained by a large family who all love each other despite their quirks. We also get to know a lot more about Dusty’s brothers Zack and Jordan and the mysterious Andrew who is J’s older brother. Please, please, please can we have Andrew and Zack’s book soon? 

This is my hands down Dark Angels favorite. Z. Allora is definitely an auto buy for me. Dusty was a bit dumb in the beginning but when he decided he was going to pursue Justin he went all out. Justin, a gang rape victim when he was in his early teens understandably has issues and fears about being in a relationship. He meets Dusty who thinks he is a girl then falls in love. Only for Dusty to freak out on him making him retreat in his shell. I cried for him and cheered when his friends and brother become super protective. Thecourtship and Dusty's patience will make you swoon.

Happily this does not look like the end of the Dark Angels series as Dusty has 2 gay brothers like the colorful adorable Jordy and the multi layered Zach.

Again, kind of a let down. I do love Dusty, he's been a doll throughout the series. There was quite a bit of repetition, but I liked both MCs.

Dusty and Justin are FABULOUS!!!

Throughout this book you really get to see another side to Dusty Davis. He's always been the joker, teaser and playful member of the band, not to say the others aren't that way as well. But Dusty has always been the one that everyone went to when they needed. We saw this clearly when Josh was on his drinking binge in Tied Together. Well, now its Dusty's turn to be the one needing.

SPOILER ALERT...

This was clearly seen when after months of emails, phone calls, letters and whatnots with J, Dusty finally comes face to face with his love....Justin. His reaction to Justin being J was heart felt. His confusion at what was happening and how he turned to his band mates for answers was very telling of the strong relationship they all have with each other. His lashing out at Justin when everything dawned on him was hard core and very apparent that he was hurting. This scene has me feeling hurt for the loss and confusion Dusty was feeling.

From there the emotions were strongly displayed as Dusty and Justin tried to go on with their lives separately. To no avail.

This couple, like all others had their issues. Dusty being a man-love-virgin. Justin's rape, flashbacks and freakouts. Not to mention them trying to find a common ground for what they felt they could handle sexually.

I found myself getting extremely pissed off over what transpired within Dusty's family. His mother and her religious views, not to mention her "what will people think of me" view. (News flash lady, who cares, its not about you). I LOVED that Dusty, being true to himself and his family, took both his brothers in and MADE things work. His consulting Justin on this issue showed just another facet of how much Dusty loves Justin.

The love these two men share is well displayed and clearly comes across. This in my opinion is another great addition to this series! The Dark Angels is a rock band that is easy to love as a group or individually.

Well done Z!! You have another slam dunk, My Friend!! Congrats!!

I really like the characters in this series, probably because the Heaven Sent series was my first foray into M/M and these characters are virtual clones of the HS boys. But, now that I've got a few years of M/M under my belt, I don't tolerate all the giggling, cuddling, lap sitting and dreamy stares as well as I did when it was so new and shiny.

I'd like to see a book about Andrew and Zach but I hope she keeps the tears and giggles to a minimum. If Zach is going to cry, I'd like it to be because Andrew is doing a little cock & ball torture or has flogged his ass for a good 20 minutes.

Dusty was an asshole in the beginning but he redeemed himself throughout the story. His patience and care towards Justin was beautiful. Dusty is well rid of his psycho sanctimonious mother and gets custody of both his brothers. Loved the new characters introduced especially Jordy!

Dusty Book was Awesome. Him and Justin were so sweet and understanding with each other. Catching up with the other guys in the band was great as well. Truly hope Dusty brothers have their own story. It a must!

This was better than the last book but there was still so many cringy moments.
One thing that annoy me : there the “everyone is gay” trope, like too much is not enough.
It also on the fanfiction/fan service level in some place.
There are some triggers warning here: homophobia, rape, suicide attempt, panic attack.

It is Dusty the drummer times to find insta-love. After one blow job and small talk with a stranger that he believe is a woman he declare his love! At least at the beginning, Justin understand that the rocker is all talk. When Dusty learn the truth about J, he lied to himself and used the fact that “he cannot be gay” because of his religious mother. It is the others rockers that make him reasons.

Justin cross dress once in a while to find the missing part of himself, it is a way to cope and protect himself since the abuse he lived through.

Their relation was insta love but at least it wasn't rush and Dust was pretty understanding of J situation once he got the whole picture. Some kink there are definitely not my cup of tea, like man in lingerie but those two had good communication and respect so this is what's important overall.

The others guys from the band were mostly there for comics relief and peep talk.

Yay!!! It’s finally Dusty’s turn for a book. With the Dark Angels lead singer Angel in love with the lead guitarist Dare, and the bassist Josh in love with the keyboard player Robin, drummer Dusty is totally the fifth wheel, when out on tour or hanging out with the band at home.

In the past two books Dusty has been a protective friend, the voice of reason, the voice of sarcasm. He teases the other men for their sappiness, but he is wishing for love himself. Not quite the same because Dusty is straight, so no man on man loving for him. He’s not against his gay and bisexual band mates, but he isn’t interested, he can’t be, not with his conservative mother. He’s just waiting for the right woman.

When he meets J at an after party, there is an instant attraction, physically and mentally. When introductions are made, Dusty realizes that he has spoken to J online and through email, but he mistakes J’s real name Justin as Justine, like his screen name. It doesn’t help that Justin is wearing a dress, but there are reasons for that, and Justin suffered brutality in his past. Wearing women’s clothes allows him to step out in public with less worry. Before the night ends, Dusty and J are set to try out a long distance relationship while the band is on tour.

When the band comes back and Dusty realizes his mistake he tries to place blame on Justin and the two break up, but the feelings that Dusty has are too powerful to stay away for long and he gives in to his desires, hoping only to hide it from his mom for a couple of years until his brothers are old enough to not be kept from him.

After that things seem to happen quickly. Not physically between Justin and Dusty, there are issues to be worked out for both of them but Dusty’s new found acceptance for his own feelings for men is quick and once he decided to go ahead, he seemed to drop all inhibitions of loving a man. They aren’t careful enough and Dusty is caught kissing J in the tabloids. I was surprised at his recovery of being disowned by his mother. I had expected him to be a bit more concerned. But at the same time, Justin’s appearance in the magazine causes problems for him too, and the two need each other more than ever. After that Dusty’s brothers are kicked out of their house and I was surprised again. Not by the fact their mother kicked them out for also being gay, but that she didn’t try to change them. Though I was glad she didn’t. It just surprised me, her ease at letting them all go within a few week period. And then the band is on tour again. The middle part of the story did end up feeling a bit rushed with all that too place. I would have liked a little bit more of a slow down so that I could have felt a little bit better what was happening in the characters heads.

As always I enjoyed the band dynamics. The other four members continued to be their sassy and sexy selves, and this time they each were able to step up and try to give Dusty advice or help as he had for them in the previous books. The band, Justin, and Dusty’s brothers seemed to form a new sort of family and everyone had a part in making this story as enjoyable as it was. I recommend it and this whole series if you love a good romance especially with sexy rock stars.

When Dusty declared his love for "J" just a few hours after they met, I thought oh lordy, lordy this is just too much. But for lonely Dusty it was pretty much love at first sight, so his feelings of betrayal over Justin's perceived deception were somewhat understandable. And since they were both miserable after the fall-out, I was glad it didn't take Dusty too long to get his head out of his ass. I enjoyed the introduction of Dusty's brothers Jordan and Zack. In fact, I kind of wish their issues would have gotten more story time (and not skimmed over or resolved so easily). Same with Justin's brother Andrew. As you would expect, a lot of time was spent on the developing sexual relationship between Dusty and Justin. This is their story after all. And because of Justin's history, I understood the need for baby steps so in no way do I mean to belittle what he went through. But it seemed like the sex scenes became repetitive and didn't really cover new ground so I was ready for things to move on, one way or another. There would be a paragraph of storyline followed by one sex scene after another and the story just didn't seem to be going anywhere. For me it was better when there was interaction with either their brothers or the other band members. I really liked how the band rallied around Dusty and Justin during their rough patches and showed their undying loyalty and support. They were true friends and things were looking pretty dang good for all of them at the end. I'm not sure if there will be more books in this series concerning Jordan, Zack and Andrew. Unfortunately, even though it's been a good run, I'm afraid I might have to stop here because of the way things could be headed.

I've only recently discovered yaoi, and have really enjoyed this series about hot rockers finding their mates. With her distinctively playful style Z. Allora gives us hot and steamy stories of m/m romance and sex, sex, and more sex.

However, in Finally Fallen, she gives us so much more. She takes a good hard look at a young man with a painful past and the healing that must take place before he can move on. And in Dusty, drummer for the Dark Angels, Justin finds the support he needs.

The author handles touchy issues with sensitivity, and my heart went out to the poor man who'd been so badly hurt. I like the fact that love didn't miraculously heal all and that Dusty's own unique situation made him the perfect man to help Justin learn to let go of the past.

An amazing touch was how Justin dealt with his pain by taking on a alter-ego, or a "disguise." I know some seriously abused people who've done the same. I also know people who used fanfiction as therapy. Although the characters are larger than life, at their core they are so human, so real in their emotions, wants, and needs.

“Finally Fallen” is a contemporary novel based around the drummer of a band that is doing well enough to be touring both in the US and overseas. With the other three band members in gay relationships (two with each other), he’s beginning to want a strong relationship of his own. Enter Justin/Justine/J.

Being a release from LooseId, there is a fair bit of sexual content, but I think the author handled it well, and I love the way the author dealt with the various issues (both internal and external) Dusty and J experienced. The instant connection between Dusty and J is well done, as I have seen/experienced the same myself, and Dusty’s realisation that he wanted to be in a relationship with Justin, and the way he handled it, was realistic.

I would definitely recommend this book for lovers of contemporary stories, especially those that handle things a bit differently, and if I was a huge contemporary reader I would probably have already purchased the other books in the series.

Overall, a good book with some really interesting plot points. This one will be staying on my ereader.

The third book of this series is all about Dusty. I wasn't sure about a story for him, as to be honest he was the least favourite of the band. However, having read this book I've definitely changed my mind about him lol.

In this book we get to know him a lot better. This helped me appreciate him so much more and I'm glad he also finally gets his HEA. This wasn't an easy book, but the author also handled it in a gentle and sensitive way. Issues that could have been handled in a manner of ways, in my opinion where handled with extreme realism and sensitivity. This made reading this book a joy to be honest and offset the overuse of the word "cute"...

Again, not a perfect book, but any book where I'm really not ready to let go of the characters once the book is finished is a good book in my opinion.

Even though I enjoyed Dusty and Justin's story I'm giving it 3 stars because the epilogue totally ruined the story for me. I absolutely have no interest in reading about any six-somes with the band and the way things ended in this book I can see a full out orgy happening down the road. I found all the playing around to be a big turn off and it felt like cheating , something that I truly dislike in my romance story. I loved the first book in the series and even though I enjoyed the other 2, the 2nd and 3rd books fell short and was disappointed with the threesome , foursome aspect. It wasn't something I anticipated and it took away from the couples relationships.
I do look forward to reading about the other characters Jordan ,Zack and Andrew but I'll just make sure to read the reviews first so I'll know what to expect and not be caught off guard.

Oh God, I LOVED this book! I started reading this a while ago and stopped after about two pages (got busy). So it has been sitting on my "Currently Reading" shelf for awhile. I finally read it today. I LOVED it. LOVED it. I always liked Dusty and I thought he might be involved with "DarkJustine" so it was great to read their story. I love how this book very subtly deals with a LOT of other stuff. Man it had everything. Cross-dressing, Domination, Rape, BDMS....

I loved thie book. Can't say it enough!
Hope there is more. I want to read about Andrew and Zack and later another book about Josh...

The cover? Hands down is a 5.
The whole rock band storyline? Another 5.
The characters in the book? A super hawt 5.

My problem though was that the errors and missing visible words had my score plummet my rating down a few notches. Whether it was the editor or this last book was rushes, who knows. I wanted to like as much or if not more than the first 2 because I took a liking to Dusty and looked forwad to reading his story. Sans those two downfalls which I'll point out appeared some but less than in the first two books it was another rock star story greatness.

The third in Z.Allora's Dark Angels series is something of a miss mash. I was looking forward to Dusty's story, but it just didn't come together for me. There just seemed to be too much going on with poor Dusty: Justin/Justine; two brothers; an religious zealot mother; Justin's brother; the rest of The Dark Angels, the big coincidence involving Justin and Jordan, and then there is the epilogue...yikes! Nonetheless, if you liked the previous two books, you will probably enjoy Finally Fallen too.

This book was amazing. I love the whole series. Dusty and Justin are just the cutest thing ever. I adore Jordon and Zack. You could feel how much Dusty loves his brother. He loves his brothers no matter what especially when it comes to some hardcore interests. They're his brothers and he'll always love them and how he deals with Justin and his issues were amazing. He's one of those guys who takes his time and will think of his lover. Especially with what happened with Justin. This is just an awesome book that anyone would fall in love with all these characters.

I really enjoyed the slow pace of the sexual side of Dusty and Justin's relationship. Its nice to see that there issues were not just gossed over or that sex was a used as a tool to make everything better.

Once again, another great book. If you don't fall in love with Justin then there's something wrong with you. It was a little more slow going that the others, as in the sense of I feel there wasn't as much drama, but still great (and definitely hot at the end).
I hope that there are more to come - hopefully a story for each of Dusty's brothers... and Andrew... and Ryan and Skyler... just more, there's gotta be more! :)

I enjoyed watching Dusty's fall. Dusty and Justin's romance was fast paced most of the book is actually dealing with Justin's issues. I do think Dusty's reasons for "not being gay" were a little over hyped. They were very easily resolved. I enjoyed the characters and their antics. I thought the plot was well done. Overall an enjoyable read.

I really want to say that this was the best of the bunch, but it's hard because the stories are all so different! I loved this one so much. Loved the cross-dressing, absolutely adored the beginning. There was so much conflict to work through the whole story and I loved the slow pace of the sexual interaction. I can't wait to read about Zach and Andrew.

Again, a few spelling/grammatical errors and typos. But, I was so excited to finally read Dusty's story!! I wanted to cry when he found out "Justine" was really "Justin"...then, I wanted to smack him for hurting some a wonderful character!!
A definite read and on my "favorite" shelf on my Fire!!!
Can't wait for Zack and Andrew's story...hoping there will be one!
