The highly anticipated conclusion to the Broken Pieces of June trilogy is finally here, but was it worth the wait?
Well, the answer to that is simply….
Yes!
Yes it was!!
Stuart mentioned that this final installment in the trilogy was going to go in a different way to the previous two, which if I'm honest, worried me a tiny bit because I loved the utter brutality of the first two! In saying that though, I felt the first two also had a heartfelt underlying story to them, which made me become totally invested in June's story and where she would go and what she would do next, and in that sense, I feel that Stuart did her the justice and gave her the ending she deserved with this book! That does not mean this book isn't brutal by the way, because it is, it really is. But it also ties up a lot of loose ends and puts June to rest in a respectful, sensitive and satisfying way!
Its the 80's, Emily (June) is still in high-school and living with a foster family. Although she is very close to her foster brother, she doesnt get on very well with her foster Mother! When confronted by her, she decides to have some fun before moving on to pastures new….but it turns out, things arent quite what they seem…
She eventually ends up in the sanitorium, not knowing exactly how, only remembering the ambulance ride that got her there. And once there, she quickly realises that they like to treat people the old school ways, like lobotomies and electro shock therapies, maybe these are the better options for her in this place though, the least fucked up, because obviously all is not as it seems here….
After receiving a private message from her old aquaintance, Mr Black, June is back to her badass crazy self and all out bloody chaos and carnage ensues, leaving behind a whole lot of bloody destruction in her path! Her destructive attitude is at its peak! But not before she comes face to face with August!! 😲
There is something coming that is bigger, badder and more fucked up than anything thats ever come before, and its heading their way! Its hinted at throughout, building the tense anticipation, until that is, The Last Act is upon us! Is June ready?
Will she ever escape the world of snuff?
Was it planned all along?
What and who is The Cult of June?
This was the very definition of a love/hate relationship! 😉 And it was interesting to read more of June's backstory, it showed a different, slightly more vulnerable side to her, that actually endeared me to her even more than before!!
An insanely messed up ride, that left me buzzing, my adrenaline pumping and with a happy, satisfied smile on my face!! Its been great knowing you June!!

Stuart Bray, the next big thing!!!
Absolutely brilliant. This was the best ending to any series I’ve ever read… I loved everything about the June series and the characters have stuck with me, I’m sad that it has to end! The way it ended though, man, what a freaking trip! Thank you Mr. Bray! You might just be the next big thing…

A fantastic ending to this crazy series! I loved the June books and the author’s imagination.
Despite the foreward that said this book wouldn’t be as extreme as the first two, I still thought it was pretty wild. The asylum was such a cool setting for June to face off with new adversaries.
I will say that I did notice a few continuity errors that didn’t follow what happened from the first book (For example, the “Soup” scene from the first book is mentioned but references a father and his children, when instead it was a man, his wife, and daughter). There were some grammatical and punctuation errors throughout this book, as well as some typos. I didn’t find they really detracted my experience, but it would maybe be a good idea to get them fixed. This would be a barrier to me buying a physical copy of these books; KU is one thing, but if I’m spending more money on a physical copy I would want it to be edited correctly (just my thoughts).
Overall a great series with great ideas and concepts. Brutal and beautiful.

Though I was sad to learn that this would be the last of June‘s story, I think that Stuart Bray did her justice in this last book. She will always remain one of my favorite characters and one that I will never forget. In part three we come to realize why June is the psychopath that she is, as well as why the freak is the man he has become. After this third book I really can say. I feel bad for June. She’s had a miserable life and has tried to survive the only way she knows how. This series will always remain with me.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to read it, trust me, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to see what future work Mr. Bray will bring to the horror community.

Bye June, you’ll be deeply missed!
The last chapter of June’s story has fallen right into place, just as I hoped!
This book is a little bit different than the two first ones.
In this book we get to know more about where June coming from, her upbringing and childhood, and this somehow explains her dysfunctional personality. Because it’s no doubt - June is bat shit crazy! She’s probably the most dysfunctional character I’ve seen in a book - and I LOVE her!
I was rooting for her and the Freak and I’m not ashamed to admit it🙈
I will not go much into the story. It’s awful, bloody, gory, repulsive, it’s extreme and NOT for the faint hearted - AT ALL!
I recommend going in blind if you’re confident that you can take it.
These three books are probably the most fu#%* up shit I’ve read till now, but they also goes straight to the top on my list of favorites in the extreme horror genre!
A huge thanks to the author for bringing June to life and letting us into her world - this story’s going to stick around in my head for a looong while!
This is a 4,5⭐️!
The series as a whole gets 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, no doubt about it🙌🏻

I have to admit, I'm a sucker for June and I'm sad it's over. But mannnn, what an end to this! A great way to end this, and the bonus story!! I didn't know I wanted to know Lemuels story until I got it.
Personally I couldn't really feel much of a plot throughout this one, which made it a little less interesting to me. But the ending comes together so well.

All good things come to an end
June. What a crazy, sarcastic, nymphomaniac psycho that broad is, and I love her. Despite all the atrocious things she has done, June is a character that is hard not to like.
I hate seeing her adventure end, but nobody can deny that she had great run.
This last book in the Broken Pieces Of June series answered some questions that left some of her fans scratching our heads.
My anticipation for this book release did not disappoint. We met some new characters, we learned more about her backstory, and just maybe we witness is a love connection..... Hmmm.

4.5 ⭐️ definitely a different vibe than the other two June books, but I agree it was an appropriate ending. In this book, June’s story draws to a close. At times, there were backstories for characters that I didn’t quite feel were necessary, but overall it was great.

...Never expected this trilogy to end as a love story, but good for them I guess? My need to finish this godforsaken series was stronger than my dislike for spelling mistakes and continuity errors but still. I came for the gore, I got what I wanted

This was the perfect ending to June's trilogy and I just loved it so much! Stuart Bray took a bit of a different approach with this one than he did the first two books but I really found it to be refreshing. And yes, it was still brutal and violent, bc you just can't have a June book without some sick depravity. Bray wrapped up June's journey with such care and gave her the respect she deserved while leaving nothing unresolved. This trilogy will remain a favorite of mine for a long time!! 5/5 skulls 💀

Alright, Broken Pieces of June 3 was okay. I liked it, but I’ve got some big issues.
The asylum was the standout—creepy, intense, suffocating in all the right ways. The cult? Twisted and unsettling, but honestly, it felt like the story was building up to something big and just never got there.
Then there’s August. She stormed in like she was about to tear the story apart—and then she was gone. Just like that. What was the point of giving her such a big entrance if she was going to get wiped out so fast?
And don’t get me started on June’s foster brother. He popped up, and I really thought, “Okay, here’s something with weight.” But nah, they did nothing with him. Total wasted opportunity.
Now, Lemuel’s confession? That hit. I was genuinely like, “AWWW FINALLY!” But dying at the hands of the one you love? Sure, it sounds poetic, but not for June. She should’ve gone down swinging. Not quietly. Not like this. It felt rushed and didn’t fit her.
The book still delivers on gore, emotion, and those intense moments that keep you flipping pages—but the ending? It left me sitting there like, that’s it? Really?
If you’re into violent, heavy, emotional stories, this is still worth a read. Just don’t expect all the loose ends to get tied up, and don’t expect June to go out the way she should have.
It deserved more, June deserved more.🖕

This book surprised the hell out of me. We still follow our beloved June, but we also get flashbacks of her and The Freak as teenagers.
In this new installment, June goes head-to-head with the new, upcoming queen from the depths of the insane asylum—Violia, who has a split personality named August. Full circle moment: the sanatorium was the filming location for the VHS tapes she watched in Book 1! June once again wakes up in the Motel where this all began.
Returning characters come back, and she once again looks into the eyes of Mr. Black.
Bray leans into the comedy, because let’s be real—it’s not possible for one woman to survive all of this. Even June has some “Really?!?” moments, but it’s so clever! This one veers away from the “snuff” and dives into full-blown action and horror-comedy gold. I actually giggled. June and The Freak turn on those around them, and they’re so cute together.
Ending in a battle to the death, what starts as June vs. Black ends with a Romeo and Juliet vibe.

What a rollercoaster of chaos this trilogy has been! Stuart absolutely wrecked me by the end of this saga, leaving my mascara running and my heart in shambles. I'm still making my way through the audiobook, and let's be real I'll probably be sobbing again before the credits roll. The Broken Pieces of June gave me everything I needed, even if it wasn’t the ending I thought I wanted. It was the ending that fit.
Now, let’s not kid ourselves you’ve devoured books one and two, and here you are, pondering book three. Darling, stop hesitating and dive in! You’ll reunite with beloved characters, meet some new ones, and follow June on her absolutely bonkers life journey. You’ll be mad, you’ll laugh (or maybe just smirk it depends on how twisted your humor is), and just when you think you know where it’s headed, BAM, you’re on a detour to WTFville.
Fair warning: Check those triggers, honey, because this book doesn’t play. It's not for the faint-hearted, but oh, is it worth the ride. I devoured this series, and let me tell you it was delicious.

Great end of series
I was a bit sceptical and worried when I first started this read as it stated that it wouldn't be as gory and bloody as the previous books in the series. But it surpassed and exceeded all my expectations and still had enough blood and gore to keep it exciting. June is the queen of snuff and anything less than what this book delivered would of been a pity. June is an amazing character, and with the freak it was incredible. You hear all the moments that brought June to the way of life and all of the sorrowful things they went through without being to much and taking away from an exciting and gripping ending. I'm sorry there will be no more of the June reads but am excited to see what comes out in the future. A great ending to the June series and if you haven't read them and you love extreme horror, then you need to read this series. They are definitely worth it. Recommended fully!

Well this one proper got under me skin, like. It’s dark, emotional, and at times absolutely brutal. Some of the gory bits had us clenching me teeth – not for the faint-hearted, pet! Blood, grief, and raw emotion are poured all ower the pages.
Bray doesn’t hold back – there’s a real intensity to it. The violence isn’t just there for shock value either, it means something, it hits hard and adds to the weight of the story. Still though, I did feel it dragged a touch in the middle. Couple of chapters where I was shouting, “C’mon, man!” at the page.
But aye, if you’re into dark, gritty reads with a real emotional punch – this one’s worth picking up. Just divvent read it before bed, mind!
Cracking debut. Proper gutted I can’t give it five.

June’s visit to Hell wasn’t nearly as bad as advertised, so she was a little disappointed when she found herself barely alive. But once she was back, revenge fueled her veins.
Still faced with unbelievable circumstances, June found the strength to continue, even if only for revenge.
Plenty of blood was spilled in book 3, just maybe not AS much as in the previous two installments.
Bray knew June’s story needed to end and he wrote so her fight in a way to make us happy and sad at the same time.

That was something
Even though the series was very disturbing and sometimes questionable, it actually was a good story. The chapters jump back and forth to different plots so you really have to keep up with the storyline. But overall , I oddly would read something like this again. A Fitting Finale
This one actually broke my heart a little, but it was an apt ending for the story of June. It ends in a manner that I had expected, although there was a part of me that wouldn't have minded it being spread out a bit more. Focus on the emotional turmoil and pain. But, that's just me.
This series was one I happened across randomly and I thoroughly enjoyed it, albeit with hesitant beginnings. Looking at it as a total piece of work, I found it incredible. Sure, it has its flaws and manners that could be tweaked, but one of the best completed series I've read in a while.

This one actually broke my heart a little, but it was an apt ending for the story of June. It ends in a manner that I had expected, although there was a part of me that wouldn't have minded it being spread out a bit more. Focus on the emotional turmoil and pain. But, that's just me.
This series was one I happened across randomly and I thoroughly enjoyed it, albeit with hesitant beginnings. Looking at it as a total piece of work, I found it incredible. Sure, it has its flaws and manners that could be tweaked, but one of the best completed series I've read in a while.

I finally was able to bring myself to read this masterpiece. I don’t know if it took me so long because I didn’t want to think about June ending, or if I had a hunch of what the inevitable ending entailed.
Firstly, I absolutely loved the back story to June and how everything made her who she was. I feel like it put more meaning to June’s life.
Lemuel will always have my heart, no matter what betrayal he did previously.
I was sad to see this end, but the way it did was beautiful.

I can't remember the last time a series grabbed me the way this one did. I devoured the first two installments of June's story, and once I knew it was coming to an end, I got nervous. As Chuck said, endings are hard. What if I envisioned the ending much differently than what the author gave me? Would it sully my enjoyment of the entire series?
As soon as I started this book, I knew none of those things were going to be an issue. This is the most incredible ending to a series that I've read in recent memory. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see June pop up again in a prequel or two, but if that doesn't happen, I'm entirely satisfied. If you like your horror extreme, don't sleep on this series.

Stuart Bray takes extreme to a whole new level. I don’t know what possessed me to pick up book one, let alone book two, and now finally book three. Let’s just say I wasn’t expecting this ending, but it nicely wraps up the misadventures of Junes into depravity and sweet madness. This book and its series truly earn the designation of splatter-punk, and extreme genre. This series isn’t for the faint of heart ❗️
