Fourteen-year-old Carolina Mendoza lives in a Los Angeles child welfare group home for adolescent girls on court- ordered probation. She continues her delinquent ways, however, by her involvement with a twenty-one-year-old pimp who is grooming her for prostitution. Realizing her own poor choices, she breaks up with him in a violent encounter, but is subsequently kidnapped by him and sold to a brothel in LA's downtown Little Tokyo. Determined to get away, Carolina finds the courage and persistence to attempt escape, only to face setbacks, arrest, and confinement in LA County"s Juvenile Hall. New friends, as well as concerned relatives, give her hope and a self-esteem boost, but it may not be enough for her freedom and well-being to be realized.
