Emergence is the story of six women and a young girl who go on an overnight cave trip into Dragons Den, a Virginia cave full of delicate formations, sinuous underground passages, and a 100-foot waterfall to a lower-level stream passage. Danielle and Nicole are the trip leaders. Accompanying them are Sydney, who is also an experienced caver, three who are going caving for the first Gabby, photographer; Lynne, mother of three; Melissa, nature lover; and finally Kate, Danielle's daughter, a veteran caver eight years old. After they drop the waterfall pit, three young men enter the cave and accidentally cause a rockslide that traps the women in the lower level of the cave. This fast-moving story is about their struggle to escape the cave and find themselves.

This book was given to me as a gift. From a caver to a caver. What a great read! I enjoyed the story, the illustrations, and the slight nightmares that will come from this tale. Thank you for putting this one out into the world! I'm a little late in finding it. So, glad it found me.

Okay so I bought this book while on vacation at a cavern in VA. Anyways this is one of the best books I have bought while on a vacation (I buy one every trip). It was highly entertaining and very thrilling. I would love to ask the author what became of Lynne. I mean it kind of seemed like one of the rescuers might have asked for a date. Anyways as you can tell I fell in love with the characters and can I just say how much I LOVED that this book was so GIRL POWER! I mean hello they rescued themselves and were so independent it was AWESOME!

Didn't put it down until I finished it! Fast paced adventure story about seven women who get trapped in a cave and figure things out themselves.
