From the desk of Bianca Blanchard

Everything I was raised to believe has been a lie! The photo Leo Santiago gave me of our mothers together—dated a week after my mother's death—and my father's evasions set my legal mind racing, so I hired a detective to investigate my mother's long-ago accident. Turns out she's alive! I've been so thankful for Leo, who has been incredibly supportive. He works for my father, so catering to the boss's daughter is part of his job, but the looks this handsome man gives me make me think there's more to our relationship than business.

Fatal Image is a romantic suspense novel and book one of The Secrets of Stoneley. Six sisters face murder, mayhem and mystery while unraveling the past. Fatal Image is Bianca’s story. There is a lot of action and adventure although you may not get all the closer you were hoping for without reading the other books.

This was so good I literally could not put it down and stayed up late to finish it. A little slow start but then quickly picked up and I'm so intrigued now!

I liked this book but found it challenging to remember that it is set in modern times. Much of the story seemed set 100 or so years ago. (Except, there are cell phones in the story!)

The Blanchards are a powerful family in Maine and live in a rather spooky mansion. All six daughters are home to celebrate their aunt's birthday when Leo Santiago approaches Biancha Blanchard at the party. Leo gifts Biancha a photograph of his mother and her mother, who were very close friends. When Aunt Winnie looks at the photo later that evening she notices that the date on the photo is a week AFTER Trudy was killed in an automobile accident.

This discovery opens a whole can of worms that Bianca begins working to uncover. Is it possible that their mother is still alive?

Returning to Stoneley, Maine is the last thing Bianca Blanchard wants to do. But it’s her Aunt Winnie’s 60th birthday, and it’s been ages since all six of the Blanchard sisters had been home at the same time. Bianca’s heart skips when she sees her father’s right-hand man, Leo Santiago. She’s always felt very aware of Leo and had looked forward to their light flirting. Leo’s mother had recently passed away, and he found a photograph of his mother with Bianca’s that he thought she would like to have. When Bianca later shows the photograph to her Aunt and sisters, they are shocked to read that date on the back; it was taken a week after her mother’s death. Bianca has always felt there were secrets surrounding her mother, and now with this photo she’s determined to find the truth. Leo insists that she let him help her, and as they dig into details of her mother’s accident, they unearth information that suggests her mother may be alive. Bianca’s confused. How involved is her father in her mother’s disappearance? And can she trust Leo, he’s always done her father’s bidding, is he really falling in love with her like he says? And was the death of the private investigator she hired truly an accident?

This was a wonderful launch to this series. The tone is rather gothic, as the Blanchard Mansion seems to have its own personality; steeped in intrigue and secrets. Bianca is a determined woman and she’s not afraid to tackle her father to get to the answers. Leo had a brief battle over where his loyalties lay; with Bianca or with her father, his employer. Good hero that he is, he chose wisely. I liked the two conflicts to this story; the ongoing mystery of Trudy Blanchard, and the romantic conflict with Leo’s own secrets from Bianca. The romance was sweet and resolved nicely. I’m very much looking forward to the next instalment in this series

I'm not really one for reading romance but I took this one because someone recommended it.Well...I did not regret it.At all.First of all, this book is the the first book in the series the secret of Stoneley and the whole series is about six sisters. This one is about one of by name,Bianca Blanchard and it was amazing.Bianca is a lawyer who lives at Boston and has come to her childhood home for her aunt Winnie's birthday party. There she meets her father's most trusted worker,Leo Santiago and begins to have feelings for him.Unfortunately Bianca's father is against this and does all he can to separate them.
To begin with though,Bianca begins to have memories of her mother who left the house one night whenever she comes back home .And she begins to suspect that her mother is not dead when Leo gives her a locket with the pictures of both their mothers on it,dated some months after her mother was said to be dead.
I love this book because of the way the author blended Leo and Bianca's love story with God's love.It talks a lot about being far away from God and drawing closer to him.
This book is a book for lovers of both romance and christian books.Hope any one who reads this enjoys it like how I did .

The first book in The Secrets of Stoneley series.

Leo Santiago works for Blanchard Fabrics. His boss has told him to get close to one of his daughters, Bianca, he wants her back in Stoneley, Maine to be a lawyer for his company rather then off in Boston where she is now.

The first night Leo realizes he can not use this woman like that, she was someone he could really care for. He gave her a picture of their mothers together. His mom had recently passed away and Bianca's mom had died twenty-three years ago but it was not allowed to be spoken of.

Leo and Bianca go on adventures and dig into facts about her mom after she finds out the picture was dated a week after her mom supposedly died.

There are many things going on in this story and it looks to be a really good series.

Fatal Image was really good. I enjoyed reading this mystery/suspense novel, though it did kind of annoy me that it took so long to get to a certain aspect of the book (which was mentioned on the back cover). At times the characters seemed a little foolish in their actions, but for the most part I really liked this book. I now want to read the rest of this series to see how everything turns out for the sisters.

This book was a good start to the series although I'm not sure I would have been as intrigued to read the rest of it if this was the first book I had read. I actually read the fifth book first which peaked my curiosity so I got the rest of the series to read.

Ending was very predictable. I knew the answers to most the mystery way before ending and others were not revealed in this book have to read next book for those answers.
