I’m so excited to be reviewing another book in Jena Doyle’s Steel Roses Motorcycle Club series! This is one of my very favorite romance series.
Here’s the breakdown:
MMC/FMC- Saint and Ru
POV- 1st person dual
Genre- MC Romance
Heat level- the main couple engages in BDSM activities, as well as more Vanilla pursuits. I think this is done very well. Saint and Ru are careful to negotiate terms and they keep everything Safe, Sane, and Consensual. This book has the hottest BDSM that I’ve ever read, and it’s not about acrobatics, etc. There’s something very hot about the amount of trust they have in each other. (And the scene where she’s making the video for the Adult Website! Rrrowl!) This book is very Sex Positive.
Bonus- link to free prequel
Cover- The book cover is awesome, and I found out that the author designed it herself! (Squee!)
Series? Y
Safety: No Cheating/Sharing, No OM/OW Drama, No S. Violence, No Cliffhanger (although the overall story arc has not been concluded).
HEA/HFN? Y
Triggers- The Biker’s Trifecta (Language, Violence, Explicit Erotic Content), BDSM, Wanton Viewing of the Vampire Diaries.
Tropes- Age Gap, Father’s Best Friend, Second Chance, Forbidden Love, To Sir With Love, Friends to Lovers , Do-Si-Do With the Mafioso, That’s (Adult) Entertainment.
What I liked- I loved this book. The s. tension and chemistry between Saint and Ru is absolutely delicious. And their relationship seems like it would go the distance, with it being based on years of solid friendship. I liked the blend of the romance plot with the overall story arc. The pressure of the feud with the mafia boils over, and it’s exciting and breath catching.
What I didn’t like- not a thing. I don’t think that it could have been better. This is all the best about MC Romance.
Verdict- I’m not going to pull people aside on the street and make them read this book (because it would violate the terms of the restraining order), but I strongly encourage contemporary romance lovers to read this series. If you like MC Romance, you’ll be thrilled. If you’ve never read MC Romance, you’ll be converted.
I received an advance review copy for free and this is my honest, voluntary review.
