A nameless Luna, who was once a slave, was raised as the runt of her pack until a stranger came and claimed her as his bride. His touch is like torture, and she cannot decide whether she dreads or desires him. An exiled Alpha who is chasing down a prophecy that promises him the power to protect his pack, but only with his fated mate by his side. She holds the key to his future, but before she can help him, she will have to unlock her past. Strange whispers in the shadows speak of an ancient secret and infernal curse that could poison their mating bond, and powerful rivalries between packs threaten to tear them apart. Can they find a way to trust themselves and each other, or will fear and pride burn their love?
I feel like this could be a good story, but the first book ended way too soon, and I feel like no real conflict was resolved. I don't think I will continue the series for $10 for each part. Plus, I don't know why the image of the main character does not match the description given for her except the violet eyes.
Honestly, this reminded me why love reading...good books. This was dumb and ridiculous and so annoying, but it made me want to read something good. Which is nice considering my 10 month reading slump ToT
She really and truly doesn't have a name. That is intriguing. She's called Flower, bit that's truly just a nickname to give Tristan something to call her. She became a Phoenix rising out of the ashes and she is beautiful.
Okay, I loved it, I want more, but this was ridiculously short for such a price point. This was a $4.99 or KU value book. New authors or beginnings of a series should NEVER be priced like this. It’s a ripoff. That being said the story itself is intriguing, but the unwritten/unsaid agreement between author and reader is broken, not in chapters, but within chapter breaks, leaving the reader slightly confused as they realize it is not from “Flower’s” perspective as it was for most of the book. That is a stylistic choice, and many authors use multiple first person narrations as opposed to the omniscient or second or third person perspective, which, unless an extremely engaging story is happening fails to draw some readers in.
A nameless luna, a slave in her late mother's pack, is the mate of an Alpha of a rogue pack. He comes during her cousin's mating ceremony claiming her. She is given to him. She goes with him but does not reveal her secrets. Tristan, the alpha, cannot get close to her because of her secrets and the abuse she underwent in her uncle's pack. He tries. She hears voices on his estate which she follows. What will she find with the voices? Will Tristan break through her walls?
I enjoyed this story. I liked the nameless luna. I also liked that Tristan's pack tried to give her a name. She is strong to have been put through the abuse of her old pack. She is cautious when accepting the goodness of the new pack. She learns the secrets of her parents' lives. She then realizes that she and Tristan may not be what he is looking for. I liked that the pack helped her and taught her. I also liked that Tristan did not give up on her. It is through her that his pack and her past are saved and strengthened.
The world building is excellent. I liked the new pack's characters. Her uncle's pack was truly villainous. I liked the hope and joy at the end. I look forward to reading the next book of the series.
What is the point in writing a book like this? What is, literally, the point? The artistic prose? The thought-provoking story? The depth of character?
No.
You're writing for perverts who are into werewolves and you've got ONE sex scene at the end of book three. And it isn't even close to explicit.
Let me state again:
Your target audience is PERVERTS who want to get off to WEREWOLVES.
And you've failed to satisfy them.
So what was the point of any of it? What a waste of time and energy, on my part and the author's. What a nothing you have to say. What emptiness you have to offer.
Crap like this is the worst and I seriously don't understand what the point of it's existence is. Just write the smut, you're not better than it.
And you end it with a happily married (or what passes for it in wolfland) couple, with the woman PREGNANT. Oh hey yay, so dumb boring traditional human garbage then, thanks.
All the things you love about a great supernatural romance book!
I read a small portion of this book during an ad for a reading app, and just knew I HAD to buy the book for my kindle- because piecemeal reading it wasn't going to do! I devoured the book in a day or two- and can't wait to read the next installment! Our nameless heroine- "little flower" is just starting her journey into her own, and Tristan -the Alpha king of outcasts aka "rovers" (rogues) is just the man/mate to help her "blossom" and thrive! He's loved by his people, and has all the qualities we love in an LI. Tristan is a handsome alpha male with a good heart, though hurt/ damaged by those closest to him and events in childhood- has had him wary/cold on the idea of a having and making himself vulnerable to a mate. But when a prophecy is foretold to him by his seer -and he seeks out and finds the girl with violet eyes who will be his and his packs salvation - everything will change for both of these wonderfully written characters!
So while this bookish available on Amazon for purchase it's mostly available on apps where you can watch ads or pay for coins to read. They may have all three books lumped together as one.
I dont know if the paid version is better but this book does suffer from a severe lack of editing. There are typos and the Albion pack is sometimes referred to as Avalon in one segment.
That being said, I did enjoy the story. I doesn't give you any sort of conclusion and I feel like the three books in the series really would be better off as one.
There is a surprising amount of heart in the story and while it's predictable I definitely enjoyed it. There is a lot of romantic and sexual tension but not spice although there is a reason for that so not sure if there will be spice in book 2 or 3.
Nameless, a mutt, an orphan, a young girl is working as her uncle's packs slave. Doing all the grunt work and having to endure their torture and abuse. Until the outcast Alpha shows up to the pack uninvited claiming the nameless girl is his mate.
After being rescued the nameless girl need to find out where she fits in. She soon learns the value of friends and the blood is not always a criteria for being family. Unfortunately she and her mate cannot commit to each other as her odly shaped over her heart causes her pain whenever he tries to get close to her.
This is an very good book. Full of action and mystery.
My review is for the 3 book series as a whole. I read all of book 1 and most of book 2 on Readict before deciding I wanted to read it without watching an ad after each chapter. I decided to purchase the eBook version, but his created a bit of an issue. See, I didn't realize that I had already read the entirety of the first book until after I purchased the Kindle version. The book was so short and didn't have a conclusion so I honestly didn't think I was even done with book one! When I realized the pacing over the three books and the pricing of each, I was a little (a lot) confused. In my opinion, this reads as one singular book and should be published and purchased that way.
Overall I thought the series was fine. Was it particularly well written? Nope. Was the storyline super original? Also no. But it was a quick, easy and entertaining read.
It's a really short and quick read, which obviously ends on a cliffhanger for the next book. I feel like the characters are developed fairly well and they grow with the story. The main girl, who has no name, I feel like you can see her struggling with her past but happily wanting to accept what she has now to move forward. I feel like this was just the set up, we get all the mysteries laid and it's like tune in next time for the answers. But I'll definitely read what happens next.
I seen this book on one of those pay by chapter websites and was pleased to see I could buy it from Amazon. Really disappointed the way this book is presented though. Love the story. Hate the way it ended. Like the writer took a whole novel and ripped it into several separate books. There is no “ending” not worth the price I paid. As interested as I am in the story line, I don’t think I’m going to finish the series.
It's an easy read and you finish at the cliffhanger before you even realize it's 3am. Yes, the ending is a major cliffhanger and I'll be moving immediately into the rest of the series after the sun comes up. I like the slow burn between Tristan and his mate, and the depth of each of the characters that slowly grows with each page. I think this is by far the best werewolf story I've read yet. Now on to book two.
The story started well but as the story went on, it slowly showed a lack of life. I found the heroine too weak, rapidly cowers even though she had this fighting spirit in her (her character might grow-up in the next book). And the nickname "little flower," "flower," "flower girl," given to her by Tristan seems a little bit outdated.
Though I do feel the price for each book is a tad high. These 3 books could have easily been 1. If you are going to drag a story out, then at least make the price less. I would like to read the next series since it is a continuation of this world, but due to the price of each book in that series as well, I think I'll skip it.
The girl is such a wounded and abused character but with hidden strengths that the Rogue King and his pack bring out of her.
Their story is beautiful and sad. The longing between them hindered by a curse bestowed on her by the Moon Goddess as a punishment for her parents’ love affair crossing the divide between wolves and night walkers
Ten dollars for two hundred pages is bit much. I would like to continue on with the two other books in the series but I'm not spending twenty more dollars for a few hundred pages.
Really it's just the first third of a book. Idk if it's worth the $30 I spent on what should have just been one book but I did read it in one sitting and it is now currently 5:45am.... So it's not a bad story 🤣
