Jean Adamson was a British writer and illustrator of children's books. She was best known for the Topsy and Tim books, the first of which was published in 1960 and which have sold 27 million copies. Adamson's creations were also featured widely on television in 84 episodes of Topsy and Tim.

Twins have their birthday party with lots of fun games. There is also a spot the difference at the end of the book and a village map of Topsy and Tim’s neighborhood.

Topsy and Tim celebrate a very traditional British birthday. A good fun book but beware if you're not planning on jelly, a dinosaur cake, and party games!!
