John Legg – Colorado Territory Bk 5 – Cheyenne Lance – Reviewed 3/12/22 – Read 3/7-8/22

Leaving cruelty behind him, Zack left for the west to become a trapper and explore the Rocky Mtns.

Zack Dobson had lived a life piled on with cruelty from a young age. Deciding that he had enough, he ran away. Arriving in Missouri with just his horse and a twenty-year-old rifle. He approached a large trapping party captain and told him that he wanted to be a trapper. After some questioning and exchange of information, he was hired. Here is where he met Mose Smithfield, and the two men became best friends from that day forward. Now the story begins.

John Legg is a well-known writer; this book was the beginning of his western writing career many years ago. Joining with Wolfpack Publishing, John has gone through the book and rewritten it to be included in his Colorado Territory series, giving us another look at the life of the mountain men.

Join Zach as he learns his trade and eventually takes a Cheyenne wife…

What did I like? Having read many of John’s books and others of this series, I knew that this book would be exciting and enjoyable; it did not disappoint me! As you all know, I grew up among the Jemez Native Americans in New Mexico, and I have a deep love for all tribes.

What will you like? Holy mackerel, this book is one exciting and adventurous book! The adventures of the two men will keep your heart pounding, and when he finds the woman that he falls in love with, you will enjoy their journey with love and humor. Several very emotional parts will tug at your heart and even make you hold your breath. This book is one fascinating read that I am sure you too will enjoy. John Legg’s next adventure in the Colorado Territory, “Cheyenne Lance,” is available NOW!!!

Another good story of a mountain man.

It was a shame that Zack lost his wife but during those times, I'm sure that it was not that uncommon for different tribes to kill women and children of their enemy.
