Baby Daddy Boss

Rate this book
A one-night stand with the sexiest man I ever met left me with a son. Learning he was my new boss was an enormous shock. The hot, smart, yet grumpy professor didn't recognize me the day I was assigned to be his T.A. I thought the white-hot passion we shared that night five years ago was just a one-time thing. Sharing an office and working together ignited the same flames that sparked our lava-hot chemistry. He may be grumpy in the classroom, but the heat between us becomes irresistible. His hot kisses and soft strokes melt my resistance. I cannot tell him my child, my whole life and reason for being, is his too. Until he bumps into us in the park. Aldrich puts the pieces together with resistance and denial. I’m torn between which battle to fight… For a life with my son alone, or for a love that fills my heart to the core and a life together.

The writing was extremely stilted and didn’t flow naturally. Punctuation was horrible with quote marks out of place, missing parts of sentences, dialog from multiple people in the same paragraph and more. Overall I was disappointed.

This is the second book I have read by Dakota Nash and I loved them both. I felt Dakota's plot was intriguing and so different from anything else I have read. I seriously couldn't put this book down and not once did my attention stray. I really liked both the hero and heroine who shared a powerful chemistry that kept drawing them together. The tension between them really added to their story and kept it interesting. There were a couple of times I just wanted to shake some sense into Aldric and Roseline...like get
it together and figure it out already. I am looking forward to reading the next book Dakota writes and I hope she won't keep her fans waiting long.

In the beginning I thought Aldric was a self centered egotistical jerk. Roseline was sweet, innocent and a bit naive with a dash of immaturity. They meet at a lecture where he is speaking about Bio-Chem. They spend the evening talking, dancing and in each others arms sharing a night of passion. In the morning she sneaks out of his room without ever having given him her name. He looks for her without success and is very disappointed because he wanted to share more than a one night stand with her. Five years later Roseline returns to Georgia State University where she is working towards completing her Ph.D. in Biochemistry Engineering. Roseline will be working as a Teacher Assistant and gets the shock of a lifetime when the professor she will be working for is Aldric the father of her son. He doesn't even recognize her and from that point on there is a tension between them that is so thick it could be cute with a knife. Roseline ensures he knows from the start that she doesn't like him and he can't understand why. Once Aldric figures out who she is things take a turn for the worse because he flat out denies they have a child together because he used protection. Is all hope lost? Will Aldric accept he is in fact Ciro's father? Can they start over and share a happily after as a family?

A pleasant enough age-gap second-chance romance

For me, it's a 3.75 star story. This was enjoyable, but left me feeling like it could have been better.

Two brilliant scientists meet at a professional event reception, one older and accomplished [that's Aldric] and the other a student in the same field [that's Roseline]. They hit it off well, perhaps a bit too well, and then the woman takes off without telling the man her name... only to come face to face again, years later, as a prof and his TA.

Our leading man is distinctly on the abrasive side of life, although we come to terms with his style, his general impatience, and his need to cut to the chase at all times. He has high standards and expectations, and yet can be impressed. Early on I wondered just what our heroine saw in him, after you got past his accomplishments. But she definitely sees a lot, and eventually we see more of that too. I think we could have skipped the details of the wedding and vows. Oddly enough it did not seem essential. Some of the stuff around Ciro [e.g. stroller; his conversational style at varying parts of the story] didn't quite feel age appropriate, and development of side characters could have added more.

Still, the book was easy to read, easy to stick with. A pleasant enough diversion. Plus the descriptions of Greece were amazing!

Aldric and Roseline's Story

Thos is a cute love story about a successful scientist who meets a young student at a conference where he is a lecturer. They have sex, she disappears, impregnated.
Five years later, they meet again as teacher/teacher assistant. They fight and fall in love.
Roseline is poor with old medical bills and student loans, often not having money for food. Aldric is very wealthy and established. Yet when he wants to meet his son, she resists, not wanting to change their situation. Really? Not even accept child support to buy food, clothes and move from their horrible apartment?
The book is cute and an okay read.

Professor Forgetful

What happens when your one-night stand turns out to be the professor you TA for? What if that same professor left you pregnant and does not remember you? This story definitely takes you on a journey towards their reunion and exploding chemistry that is reignited. Roseline and Aldric must sort out their past and present to find love and happiness, but his stubbornness tends to get in his way to seeing the truth. A slow-burn story where you are rooting for their happy ending. This was a great read!

This is a really good book. It’s just spread out and skips too much. Would be a lot better if it wasn’t.
