Grave Work: Villainous Creatures M/M Mafia Romance #1

Rate this book
A mortician with a dark secret can’t stay away from the smoldering son of a powerful mafia family—even when they find themselves caught in the crossfire.

Dominic

I have a dark secret and the Urso Family knows it.

Blackmailed into using my crematorium to their sordid ends, I drift through my life in a haze of guilt and misery, with one single bright Francis Urso.

So what if he’s a dangerous mafia hitman? He’s a dangerous mafia hitman who wants me.

Francis

I’m the fourth son of the Urso Family. Shunned, disrespected, and relegated to “clean-up duty,” I want nothing more than to find my way back in—and I wouldn’t mind if I got to keep working with Dominic, the strange, intriguing mortician who is just as much a pawn in this game as I am.

When we are attacked, unsure who is on our tail, I’ll do whatever it takes to keep Dominic safe, but between the threat of a looming mafia war and the searing attraction between us that we’ve long ignored, can we find a way to survive together without losing our souls?

Grave Work is the first book in the Villainous Creatures series, a steamy MM mafia romance. For lovers forced proximity, lovers on the run, slow burn, hookup-to-lovers, feral unhinged MCs, a cinnamon roll who could actually kill you, and a murderous hitman who is soft for his boyfriend. Read on if you love your dark-ish romance with a hint of humor and lots of action.

Wasn't 100% sure what to expect from this one. It started out a little slow and with a lack of direction, but by about halfway through I was utterly hooked. I'm glad Dominic's past was eventually clearly explained. It felt very much like things were being danced around for a long while. And the addition of House Corvus was a little random, but maybe that'll have purpose in later books. Either way, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of the series as the books are released.

great debut

Loved it! It was gripping and my heart bled for Dominic and Francis. Since it’s a continuous story it’s not happily ever after. So many questions, where did Shane go and he is the sixth Al enemy and where is Francis mum?

exciting and weirdly romantic

Really enjoyed this story of unlikely love. The plot had twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. The love story was strong and character development was well written. I look forward to the next book.
