A guide to "conscious spending." Knuckey patterns her expense model after Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the point being that after paying off survival expenses, it's important to allocate money for things that bring us real pleasure. Makes the excellent point that if we don't have a conscious plan to fund our "soul," we will end up unconsciously spending money in scattered places that don't bring us nearly as much pleasure.

I liked the non-judgemental approach: the idea of a "spending plan" rather than a "budget, of choosing your own values, etc.

Nice, upbeat tone.
