Tim Bowers (Ohio) began his art career as a studio artist before moving to Missouri, to work for Hallmark Cards. Tim’s first children’s book, THE TOY CIRCUS by Ohio author, Jan Wahl, was published in 1986. After five years with Hallmark, he and his family moved back to Ohio.
Since then, Bowers has illustrated over 50 children’s books including the New York Times bestsellers: DREAM BIG, LITTLE PIG! by Kristi Yamaguchi, DINOSAUR PET by Neil Sedaka and Marc Sedaka, and SORRY GROWN-UPS, YOU CAN'T GO TO SCHOOL! by Christina Geist. Other books include FOOTLOOSE by Kenny Loggins and new stories featuring the popular character, P.J. Funnybunny, written by author Marilyn Sadler.
His books have received numerous state awards including the prestigious Texas Bluebonnet Award for the book, Memoirs of a Tortoise by Devin Scillian. Bowers has had books included on the Chicago Public Library's "Best of the Best" list and several Junior Library Guild selections. His books have been selected for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and his art has been juried in the Society of Illustrators Annual Art Exhibition.
