A monster is not in one's species, but in one's actions.
For over a century, things that go bump in the night have been woefully acknowledged. Delicately and often messily, co-existing alongside mankind. With laws in place to manage the supernatural population, many live peacefully, remaining under the radar, in fear of what many species believe to be a corrupt system. For those who refuse to abide by human laws, one of the best kept secrets The Agency, and the wandering monster hunters it employs.
Children are strictly forbidden among Agents, relationships harshly frowned upon, yet one was allowed to one very loyal agent, two more mysteriously acquired for reasons unknown. Amalthea grew up on the compound, alongside the only others to share her Gage and Jaxx. Unable to live normal lives or make any real emotional connections, their bond became an unbreakable force under the hard hand of Gage's father, making them one dysfunctional family, and the best team in the business.
That is, until the head of the most powerful Vampire Clan, and the Agency's biggest problem, finds Amalthea, and all hell breaks loose. Determined to guide her towards the ancient truth of her origins, and make her his own, Sven Morganthe steers Amalthea towards the dark secrets held by those closest to her, and the nefarious Agency that owns her.
With the changes in Amalthea's body no longer deniable, her life becoming endangered at every turn, doubts and betrayal begin to ricochet through the close-knit team's tailored lives, with one steadfast vampire complicating everything Amalthea thought she knew, especially with the two Agents who will stop at nothing to keep their best friend safe. Between hunting the supernatural, navigating carefully placed lies, and the growing tension between them, Amalthea begins to think the only way to save her life, protect good creatures, and the ones she loves, is to trust the very monster she has sworn to kill.
With twists and torrid truths changing their course at every crossroad, relationships will be put to the test, unlikely friendships will be formed, and it will take the unity of creatures and humans alike to unravel the century-old master plan that none of them saw coming, and face the evil creature behind it. One that could not only destroy them, but the world as they know it. How do you choose right or wrong, when the line between good and evil begins to blur?
In my head I can only best describe this book as if Supernatural and Underworld had a baby, but with open-door sexy spice and a badass female lead that packs real muscle! The traveling/ hunting factor had me really looking forward to the next chapter and as the reader one gets to learn about all the other creatures in this world not just from narration but by their interaction with the main leads. I enjoyed this part of the book so much that I almost forgot there’s an actual bigger plot, although not for long, which is why the character of Sven is so poignant to the story, glad he is written strongly from the get-go and you never wonder if he would be important to the story… Sven Morganthe lives! The cliffhanger at the very end made me want to jump into book two right away! Rereading is a must for me.
I was so excited for this story & so badly wanted to love it but I couldn’t get over how it’s written, the grammatical errors, the repetition, and just how closely it resembles the show Supernatural. Which- this was what got me excited at first but then it became too much *like* the show. It’d be different if this was a fan fic but it is not.

Vampires and broken characters, oh my! A character-driven story, FOR THIS I'LL BLEED takes you on a rough and tumble journey across the country as Amalthea learns some harsh realities about her situation, things that were purposely kept from her, and the truth about the only person whom she could call her father. With her world upended, and her partners just as screwed up as she is, she tries to navigate her way in this world not just with them, but with a clan of vampires sniffing at her tail. Filled with angst and drama, I couldn't look away as one wrench after another was thrown at Amalthea and she batted them away the best she could. The sultry tension between her and Sven was palpable, and there wasn't a single sex scene that didn't leave me panting. If you like Supernatural but grittier and focused on a femme for once, get out this book!
