Some of these stories I have heard first hand from Prof Deriada himself when he was my Literature professor in UP. So surreal! My favorite will always be Tartanilya. I have shared these stories to my children as they love scary stories too. It is my hope and wish to share the love of the late professor's stories and works to celebrate what wonderful and celebrated writer he is.
He swam underwater, his eyes wide, trying to mark the movements of medium-size tilapia among the fine, swaying roots of floating water hyacinths.
This book was a huge WTF, and my rating reflects my level of horror. I knew the mythical Filipino tikbalang had a reputation for their, um, horniness, but uhh... Well, I guess it's a sign of how well-written this is, because it definitely made me experience strong feelings of "????????".
