The creation of a movie is a story in itself complete with dramatic struggles, heart-stopping breakthroughs, and moments of just plain fun. Lilo & Stitch: Collected Stories from the Film's Creators relates the personal experiences of the team who brought Disney's newest animated feature to life, told in a unique volume reminiscent of richly illustrated classic storybooks. For lovers of art, and dreamers of paradise, Lilo & Stitch: Collected Stories from the Film's Creators is a fascinating and luxuriant narrative of the moviemaking journey.
A book that is comprised more of artwork than actual word count. It is a compilation of vignettes and stories from the film's creators and various others that worked on the movie, and while there were some nuggets of information about the creation and process of the movie, it left me a bit disappointed by its shallow and underwhelming approach. As a Lilo and Stitch fan, I wanted to learn more. This really is more of a coffee table type book that's simply nice to look at rather than being an insightful endeavor.
A lovely collection of stories from everyone who worked on Lilo & Stitch that just made me love the movie even more. There was also a nice selection of concept art, but I wish they would've showed more.
For a huge Lilo and Stitch fan like myself, this book is like my Bible. It's so fantastic to see the thoughts and process behind the movie, as well as seeing some of Chris and Dean's original storyboards. I do wish there was more art work, but it is written on the from "Collected Stories from the Film's Creators" so I took what art I could get.
Nevertheless, it is still a great source of inspiration not just the art, but also the passion that the authors/creators had for this film. It reminds young artists or anyone that passion shows through, no matter what.
P.S. TOTALLY COUNTING THIS BOOK IN MY READING CHALLENGE BECAUSE IT'S GREAT.
A good look into the making of "Lilo & Sitch" with stories and anecdotes from the film crew. However, I was hoping for more concept art and such featured instead. I guess that's why this book is not called "The Art of Lilo & Stitch." :)
