Fodor's Travel Publications is a United States-based producer of English-language travel guides and online tourism information. It was founded by Hungarian Eugene Fodor in 1936. Fodor’s was acquired by Random House in 1986 and sold to Internet Brands in 2016.
I live in China, which means that I have taken a gander at many different travel guides to this huge and varied country. But of all the guides I've read, it's this one that I always rely on most. It is clear, well-structured, and can even be read just for fun. My only complaint is that it focuses too much on sites based on antiquity and history. I would like a new edition to focus also on just fun places to visits and attractions that even those who aren't gooey over history might appreciate.
