Addie Cordero (a psychologist and graphologist) is sent to Galbraith Island by the assistant district attorney/prosecutor's office. A killer they call Enigma may have left a clue behind at his latest crime…a note was found clutched in the murdered victim’s hand indicating what might be Enigma’s next destination…Galbraith Island. They are hoping Addie can make an ID on the island. (They want Addie to see if she can find the handwriting that matches Enigma’s, then contact them and they will send someone in.) So she sets off for Galbraith Island. She is looking forward to getting away after a bad breakup with her boyfriend.

After Addie arrives on the island and gets settled in she is invited to meet some (twelve) islanders at a house party. When they find out that Addie’s a graphologist they are eager to give her samples of their handwriting anonymously so she can tell them each a bit about their personalities. While doing this Addie discovers that one of the handwriting samples is an exact match to Enigma’s handwriting. But who (out of the twelve) could Enigma be? Addie begins to eliminate some suspects. She is also attracted to handsome Jason Farrell, who has been taking photographs on the island. Soon, murders begin occurring and Addie eventually teams up with Jason to find the killer.

This was an enjoyable Harlequin Intrigue. I was curious to find out who Enigma was. The story was slow sometimes but still good. I liked Addie, she was a brave and smart heroine. I found Jason unpleasant and cranky in the first half of the book but his character improved as the story progressed.

A fun read with interesting characters and an atmospheric setting---the isolated island.

3 1/2 Stars ~ Sent by the Boston prosecutors office, Addie is determined to find the identity of a serial killer hiding out on Galbriath Island using her talents in psychology and graphology. From a group of 13, she's narrowed down the suspects to 6. Jason is hiding something, Addie is sure. Turns out he's on the island for his own investigation into a case of money laundering. Addie's instincts are telling her Jason is the real deal, an intelligent, creative and sensual man, but she's conflicted because, from the sampling of handwriting she believes is his, he's really rather a cold love them and leave them sort. When someone makes attempts on Addie's life, Jason insists she trust him.

Ms. Gladstone deserves great credit, she had me guessing who the killer was right up to the last pages. How clever to use the science of handwriting analysis to root out a killer. There are several twists and turns and of course, all those lovely red herrings! Though the pacing was not as intense as I find in the more recent Intrigues, I was engaged and enjoyed this story very much

What a fun adventure/thriller. Addie is a psychologist and graphologist, sent to a small island. A serial killer has killed 4 women and left a small note on one of the bodies. She was sent to find out who the writing belonged to. And of course, one of the suspects in a hottie that she can’t resist. What’s going to happen?? Naturally, if you read these Harlequin romance books, you know what’s going to happen. They are deliciously predictable and what’s why we read them. We read for the reveal of love and for the happy ending. So, you won’t be disappointed. It was a bunch of fun!
