This was an above-average collection from Howard Waldrop (technically it's an omnibus of two earlier collections, and structured that way). It includes some fantastic stories (like "Mary Margaret Road-Grader" and "The Ugly Chickens") and some headscratchers (like "What Makes Heironymous Run?") and some deeply horrifying stories (like "Horror, We Got," naturally). Waldrop is always good about including comments about each story, and I love him for that at least. Anyway, a great set of stories, and you can see a bit of his evolution as a writer.

A terrific collection of tales from a master of quirky science fiction. From the humorous to the odd to the outright hilarious, Waldrop's writing is always entertaining, thought provoking, and sometimes unsett;ling. A great read.
