I think it is a really good shortened account of Shakespeare, his works and the theatrical / historical background of it all.

I found this on my shelf of never-read (yes a real shelf in my house) and I read it. I will not say it is a "page turner" but I enjoyed the read; it was clarifying and I now want to read and watch Hamlet again. It was published in 1958 so the graphics are not what we expect from a more recent publication but it was an easy, short and very informative narrative.
