Rate this book
Tyrone Rashon Williams's excitement about the first day of the new school year wanes when he sees that everyone is wearing the same new sneakers he is so proud of, but it gets worse when a new student arrives who has his exact same name.

The JUST FOR YOU!(tm) series features 24 beginning readers written and illustrated by people of color. Young readers will see themselves and their experiences reflected in these delightful books. They will read about how the characters spend their time with family and friends-at home, in school, at the park or barber shop, and other places in their community. These age-appropriate stories include books at three different reading levels. Plus, each book contains instructional-and fun-material for caregivers that targets comprehension and key vocabulary.

This book is intended for students 5-8. (k-3rd grades). I would choose this book for the classroom because it would be a great read at the beginning of school year if there are children in the class with the same name. I like that the children are able to solve their own issue when deciding what to be called i n the classroom when they both have the same names. At the end of this book the author suggest that the children write or tell of their experiences on the first day of school. this would be a good ice breaker.
