Part I is called Getting to Know VB 6, and is a down-to-earth guide to advanced features. Only the first two chapters are intended for remedial help (Historical Introduction; VB Survival Guide). The focus of the rest of the chapters in Part I is to give direct, factual answers (Coding Tips and Tricks; Graphical VB; Advanced ActiveX; Interface to the Network). Part II is called Tables and Reference Data, and is intended for quick reference. Most sections give bare-bones information such as data range and syntax (Data Types, Operators, Standard Controls, Object Keywords and Tools). The last chapter, Task Summary, covers such advanced topics as creating objects and establishing a link to a database. It is organized in a "How Do I ..". fashion.
Read this forever ago, but it was the first programming book I read. Is it too much to credit it with my interest (and now budding career) in software development?
I actually got this book after an email conversation with the author that I only wish I still had. He was very nice, if I recall.
