It’s been a while since I’ve read “Lost and Bound” so I decided to come back to this series!! And I have to say it was nice getting to see Nate and all of those guys again :DD. I liked Ash’s character, it was interesting following him and all of his aftermath, like how he can’t feel pain, he can’t taste, his amnesia. Although, I do still wish that there were some snippets from his time at the lab because we’ve had two stories now surrounding that dark place and we know nothing about it 😅. The relationship between Ash and Drew was definitely instant lust but it still progressed, plus they had their heartwarming moments 😌. The rest of the books from this series don’t sound as interesting to me but I’ll probably still give them a shot. I mean I’ve made it this far!!

There are hidden gems in this series, but this was not one of them in my opinion. 😭🤷🏻♀️❤
There was so much sex... Eliot took Shifter tropes to a whole knew level that made this a porno basically and I was bored to death!!!
I mean, the guys both had been experimented on and the alpha needed to fuck the human because of it, like all the time *whines*.
They woke up? The human had a dick in his ass. They were eating and the human made a sound? The alpha had to leave the room because he couldn't deal. HE EVEN FUCKED HIM WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING!!
The human gave him permission to do that but what the actual fuck?
And what is worse, the human wasn't enjoying it because he can't feel because of what they experimented on him. AND WE ARE IN THE HUMAN'S POV!!!!
So we get a lot of: well he is doing this, he's doing that, I wish I could feel it, well at least he's enjoying himself.
WHAT THE FUCK???!!! Nope, this trope wasn't it.

Fast-paced and nicely complex romance in the Mismatched Mates series
While Calder and Jared's story is still my favourite in the series, I did enjoy finding out what happened to two of the other escapees.
Ash and Drew's journey has some of the same beats, as they both try to come to terms with what happened.
But it differs in that there's no other plotline involving the bad guys of the rest of the series.
It also still leaves some plot threads not answered, which was a bit frustrating, but in terms of the romance itself, that's nicely concluded.
The fake bond angle of the story works well, I wasn't as sure on how effective Ash's inability to feel or taste was as a narrative driver though.
Having said that, it does work in context and it adds a necessary obstacle in the relationship development outside of the family stresses.
As with all the other relationships in the series, there're mild elements of a Dom/sub style of alpha and mate connection which is scorching hot and Ash's inability to feel adds a unique edge.
Once again, my enjoyment increased more when the rest of the bonkers Armitage crew became involved, although I loved the way Ash and Drew were also trying to find their own solutions to the increased danger from Drew going feral.
I'm not sure if there will be any more to come but I'd really love a catch up with this pair to answer some of those dangling questions.

I really tried, because I had this in my list of audios for ages, and I listened to the previous ones a while ago and liked them. And it came free with my Audible subscription, so I couldn’t go wrong, right?
But even though it started off well, and the premise was good, it took a turn into cringe territory and I just.., couldn’t. I tried. But I had to dnf ☹️
I mean - if you recollect the previous books, there had been an evil lab where bad warlocks experimented on all kind of creatures, werewolves, fae and human, for some nefarious reasons. The captives escaped, killing the warlocks. And one of the escapees is Drew, an alpha werewolf, who rescues a human from a cell who’s in a really bad shape.
That’s Ash. Ash had amnesia and doesn’t remember much. And Ash can’t feel anything - no touch, no taste. Nothing.
Annnyway. For reasons, Drew pretends that he’s mated to Ash, and they spend time alone in a huge mansion- to recover, but also to “get to know each other” again.
As I said - the premise is interesting: how to write a romance where one of the characters doesn’t feel anything? The answer is: you make it awkward. Ash is 25, but feels incredibly naive and innocent. He decides to “help” Drew with his sex urges (because not following through makes Drew “unhinged”.) He doesn’t even remember if he’s straight or not. It doesn’t feel like he’s attracted in any way to Drew, even though we’re told “his stomach feels funny”. He experiments with sticking his fingers in his throat, realising that - hooray - he doesn’t have a gag reflex, either. And we are part of his thinking process, because he’s relieved that he’ll not ne able to taste Drew’s cum, and he’s only concerned that the consistency might be weird.
But hey, he’s a Samaritan, he wants to help, so it can’t be too bad, right? It’s to make Drew feel better.
Uh. That was where I just couldn’t continue any more. It’s only 35% ish, but it felt longer. No rating because I only rate books where I read more than 50%, but it’s… bad.
Don’t read it. You’re not missing out on much.

Yep, still amazing; I'm on a binge re-read at the moment and this series is such a joy to get back into ♥️

This was incredibile.
A lot darker and angstier than what I was expecting, but still wonderful and addicting and romantic; and yes, it also reached toe-curling, mouth-watering, fan-yourself-with-the-nearest-object levels of steam.
I absolutely loved both MCs. Ash was lovely: heart-breakingly insecure, but also endearing and snarky and soft and what he was put through was so horrific I wanted to jump into the book to protect him (and maybe, also, whack him a bit because he's so bad at communicating). And Drew was equally lovable: he's bit of a giant idiot at times, but his protective streak, how he always wanted to be with Ash and treat him well, made me absolutely fall for him. And I really felt for him too: I won't spoil anything, but god, seeing him go through all of that, the slow loss of control, was hearbreaking and tough and horrific.
I adored their relationship, even though it's somewhat unusual: this book is quite a bit darker than a lot of the previous ones, and although both of them are on board for anything and quite attracted to one another from the very, very start, it does deal with some tough themes (non-con, rape, to name a few). It won't be everybody's cup of tea, but personally I adored how everything unfolded. Their chemistry was undeniable and all of their steamier scenes were, WHEW, just, so damn hot. Knotty, steamy with a dash of claimy, uber-possessive vibes: my jam.
The plot was interesting and riveting and addicting: I managed to finish this book in one sitting, inhaling it non-stop. The writing was phenomenal and the side-characters? We come across a few, very welcome, old characters (including some of my personal faves) and I kind of want to do a re-read now.
I cannot wait to read what comes next.

Hurt/Comfort

First, there are some books in this series I think can be read without reading the rest of the series but this is not one of them. I would highly recommend at least reading the prior book but I’d take a look at the first 2 in this series as well. Just a heads up.
I feel real sad rating this 3 stars because it’s the first book I’ve been able to really focus on lately. I have just been in this weird funk and unable to finish anything but I devoured this. I loved this so much in the beginning that I even thought this could be my first 5 star review of the year but alas this just crashed as it went on and the ending was so abrupt that it left a ton of unanswered questions.
This is Ash and Drew’s story after they break out from the prison they’ve both been held in and experimented on after being kidnapped by evil warlocks. Ash (human) had been imprisoned there a lot longer than Drew (werewolf shifter) and the warlocks took away his ability to feel touch among other things but Drew has some issues of his own that start to threaten the safety of those around him especially Ash.
This was sooo sweet at the start. All Ash remembers about being rescued is Drew’s warm eyes that made him feel safe and when he wakes up 2 weeks later, Drew has brought him home and been caring for him the whole time. They didn’t know each other before this but Drew found him when they were escaping and made it his mission to keep Ash safe. Even though we only get Ash’s POV, I could tell how much Drew adored Ash and I loved the way he went above and beyond to help Ash figure out who he was because the experiments also wiped out his memory. I also loved the way Ash tried to take care of Drew once the effects of the experiments became known. All Ash wanted to do was make Drew feel as safe as Ash had this whole time and he was so selfless attempting to do that.
Initially I loved 🥰 them going on their road-trip to find a cure for Drew especially after it brought them to the Armitage pack from books 1-2. We are also reunited with the couple from the previous book and that’s why I feel it’s so important to read those books beforehand. However, as much as I loved catching up with all my favorite side characters, Ash and Drew started having a bunch of miscommunication that resulted in hurt feelings and drama. I just didn’t understand why it took so long for Drew to properly explain himself and why Ash couldn’t seem to believe Drew had real feelings for him. The whole thing just became incredibly annoying but what really dimmed my enjoyment was where the book went from there because it felt like the author forgot to upload to rest of the book.
They had some other things to take care of in California like dealing with Ash’s past and that part was fine but then it just ends and that confused me so bad. Some might not find it important but my first question is, where the fuck are these two going to live? I can’t get more into that because spoilers but ???? And then Drew’s family is a huge obstacle in the beginning of the book and these two had to fake being mated for Ash to even be with Drew and for there to be no follow-up with the family? WTF. There are so many more questions I have that I can’t put here because spoilers but this just felt so incomplete. The author could have at least put a summary in the epilogue but even that was a mess.
And so, despite loving this couple, the hurt/comfort and all the side characters that made this sing, I ended up feeling quite blahhhhh when I finished it. While this series reads better in order, there aren’t ongoing storylines so I might see this couple again but I won’t be getting any closure which is very fucking disappointing.
However, I will continue reading this series because I’ve loved the majority of them and I love all the snarky characters and their mismatched mates.

Love a possessive growly wolf. Drew basically went ‘I licked you so you’re mine’ and Ash said ‘Okay’.
Lost Touch was slightly angsty, had barely any plot, but was sexy and weirdly comforting. And still my fave of the series.
It’s fake mates to love, hurt/comfort, smutty smut. That’s basically it.
The ‘not being able to feel pain or pleasure or even taste’ trope is one I haven’t really found anywhere else, but it’s such an interesting one.
It made me feel for Ash right from the beginning.
Now how do you build a sexy romance off of a character that can’t feel pleasure? You make him feel like a sex toy. The free use kink was HOT, but I do wish the author really leaned into it. That somno tease was just mean.
And while I can admit there isn’t a whole lot going on in this installment, I still enjoyed the fuck out of it. And I loved the Armitage cameos, seeing all the gang together.
So is this objectively an amazing read? Not really.

Ok, ok. Really? One, I can't even believe this book ended the way it did! What? So. Many. Unanswered. Questions.
So. Many.
Two, is that it for this series? Oh my God please tell me know. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these books one right after another and I am beside myself that I've reached the end.
Maybe a tad dramatic but it is the truth.
This one. Wow. I have no words really. It was just as good as the one before and I think they may tie for my favorite.
I can't believe more people aren't reading these books.
Good stuff and fingers crossed we will be getting more.

Another ending/epilogue kills a star...
This would have been 4 stars but that epilogue was weak yo. Like, now that I'm thinking about it, did it even have an epilogue? Maybe it was just the final chapter. I also really really have an issue with how Grayson uses miscommunication in her books. There's plenty of thrills, excitement, intrigue, romance, spice to keep the story moving along without this need to throw in the miscommunication trope in Every. Fucking. Book. At the same place too.
Here's how her very interesting books go- they are meant for each other. They fall in love but think they aren't worthy or the other person doesn't want them how they want them or want to be with them. Then the other person believes the ::wait for it:: Exact Same Thing! Shocking, I know. So both characters are wanting to be together but in their own way by just not opening their damned mouths and saying the truth.
It's beyond frustrating and totally unnecessary because Grayson can write well and can build a very interesting and entertaining magic/shifter world.

Another good entry in one of my favorite series. It ties in with the events of the previous book, and I loved seeing Ash and Drew work through the aftermath of what happened to them and how they were affected by the experimentation. Much like how book one and two in this series had their similarities, this book shares some elements with the previous book, but it by no means feels repetitive. I love that throughout this whole series there are similar relationship dynamics, character types and tropes, but in every book they feel different and unique.
Ash's inability to feel pain or pleasure was a novel concept and it was interesting to see how it played into their relationship and how he was personally affected by it. As per usual for this series, the book does a great job balancing dramatic moments and serious emotions with heartfelt affection and humor. It would have been interesting to know a little more about Ash's past and , and to see an epilogue further into the future, but overall I really enjoyed this book.

This book is about 25-year-old Ash and a little bit older Drew who is a werewolf. Ash was abducted 14 months ago and medically experimented on and tortured. The torture and experiments did s*** to him, he can't feel pain, he can't taste anything, can't feel sexual attraction or pleasure. Drew was also abducted but it was only a matter of weeks or short months for him. One of the other patients/victims, Calder, stages an escape and kills everybody and freeze the victims. Drew and Ash head off together, because something instinctive in Drew has claimed Ash as belonging to him. Ash has amnesia. Drew was struggling with enhanced Alpha instincts that make him want to mate ash. Drew wants to take care of Ash and help him with everything he's struggling with. Drew was also being pressured to take a mate, so to explain Ash's presence and help Drew avoid an arranged mating that he does not want, Drew and Ash pretend to be mated.
It gets a little too real for Drew, f****** with his instincts. So Ash volunteers to be his sex toy and outlet for his urges. Even though Ash himself can't feel sexual attraction or pleasure so it's kind of dubcon and one-sided. Drew wants to be a better person and not take him up on the offer, but he can't resist. They bang until it gets so bad that Ash's body can't take it. And they decide to seek out a . And they decide to seek out a shaman or Warlock for help. Enter Nate and Arik from the previous books!
I really like how this author writes interesting characters and tons of humor. They just had me cackling at times. Some perfect moments! There were some moments in this book that were five stars. The emotion and heat between the characters, their connection was good.
There were just two things that really took my enjoyment down a peg with this book.
- First, Ash was basically a crying damsel in distress wringing a handkerchief full of his tears, swooning and bursting into tears at every other moment. He was over the top helpless and emotional and it got on my nerves. I couldn't help but find him annoying.
- Secondly, I felt like the author f***** up the end of the book. It was almost like they got lazy or hit their word count goal and just wrapped the book up too fast. All of a sudden we were at the start of an epilogue, but we were still in knee deep in resolving the conflict, so it seems ridiculous to call that an epilogue. We needed an actual Flash forward epilogue or we needed more time in the book to wrap up some of the plot arcs. Like, did Ash ever get his memory back, and what does their life look like when they go back to Drew's home? Because they didn't resolve the plot of Drew's family objecting to their mating, they basically ran away from the chaos and didn't go back.
So anyway with those two things in mind, the book was like 3.25 stars. Which is unfortunate because if those two things hadn't been a problem I could have really really loved this book. It was instalove on Drew's side btw.

This is one of the funniest things to have up here in an alpha romance. "I read the description I’d found on one of the many websites that had popped up, my eyes widening and widening. Because, what, the evolutionary biology powers-that-be had sat down and said, “You know what? Alpha cock just isn’t big enough. Let’s make it get even bigger once it’s in there. Huge! And also, since alphas don’t already have enough advantages in size and strength and everything, the knot’ll keep their mates from getting away. In case they’re still conscious. LOL!”"
Whoops! "“You seemed okay this morning.” I didn’t move my hand, and he tensed under my fingers. “I mean, sort of? Right?” Drew made a funny sound, his throat working, and looked away. “Seeing you deep-throat your own fingers and then tell me you didn’t have a gag reflex kind of undid whatever progress I’d made trying to get myself under control, Ash.”"
"“Don’t answer the door like that!” I managed, and Drew stopped with his hand on the doorknob. “Why not?” “Because they’re helping us, remember? You don’t need to maul anyone. Or flash them.” I shook my head, trying to clear out some of the cobwebs, and pushed myself up to sitting. The room swayed around me. “Who’s there? And don’t come in right now!” “Don’t worry, wasn’t going to, we could all hear you, and believe me, I don’t need a visual to go with the soundtrack,” came through the door. Nate. And…hell. We could all hear you. Once you’d hit peak embarrassment, it had to get better, right? “Glad the lube worked out for you!” Nate called out cheerfully."

Between the dubcon free use and the amnesia trope, I should have been all set.

“Us against the world?” I asked softly. His eyes lit up, and I smiled after all, unable to hold it back. “I trust you too.” His other hand came up to rest on my other shoulder, and he pulled me a little closer. I let myself be reeled in until I leaned against his chest, closing my eyes and breathing him in.
“Yeah, us against the world,” he murmured into my hair.
Every time a book from this series is released I get so excited. It’s one of the few series, with more than 3 books, that I can honestly say I’m up to date. You can always rely on the amount of smut the MCs are going to bring. I love how the author gets bolder in each book and explores new kinks. I wouldn’t recommend reading it as a standalone since there are some things that are better explained in the previous book, and also IMO reading this series in order gives you a better perspective of every character’s behavior; especially when there are cameos, which are always the best parts if you ask me.
Due to the mental state of Ash and Drew, after everything that happened while they were kidnapped, it was kind of hard for me to connect with either of them at the beginning. Also, Calder and Jared set the bar high for me in the previous book and that didn’t favor Ash and Drew. The same happened to me with the second book, since in the first one Nate and Ian matched so well the type of characters I love to read about the most. Nevertheless, like I said before it’s always a delight to read this series and I loved the rhythm of the story. I’m quite curious about the other lab survivor and if they are all going to meet again eventually.
Another installment full of smut, possessive alpha werewolves and snark. Can’t wait to read more about the Armitage pack.

This series just… does it for me. It’s not that different from the other in the series: it employs similar tropes, and I loved them all. Give me all the hurt/comfort, the forced proximity, the sexual tension, the bond of convenience, and the fuck-or-die vibes!
Even though the recipe is similar, I still felt like Ash and Drew were their own characters, with their own relationship dynamic. Their chemistry was amazing, and I loved how the book went from sweet care-taking moments to hot and steamy scenes. The sex scenes were hot and a little kinkier than what I expected from this series! There was even a little somnophilia and... what do you call it? objectification/free-use? Eliot Grayson writes sexual tension very well and I really felt the urgency. But in the end, what won me over is the emotional connection and the little affectionate moments between the MCs. The premise was unique and very intriguing to me (a MC who can’t feel pain or pleasure from touch), and it was handled in an interesting way. At first, I was worried about what that would mean in regards to the intimacy between the MCs, but I shouldn’t have been. There’s still plenty of physical comfort and sweet touches between them.
There were some little things I wished were done differently. The ending . But overall those didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book.

3.5* rounded up. This was a very intense book to read! Even though we met the MCs after they’ve been rescued, they’re still very much dealing with the aftereffects. I had a feeling how it would end but was swept up in the story all the same. The “lost touch” bit seemed pretty well done, too.
The only reason this wasn’t higher rated for me is the ending. It was abrupt! And ended on a weird note. I wish it had been a bit longer and wrapped things up more.

Amnesia, loss of taste and touch, magic, and werewolves. There’s a faked mating, a gentle miscommunication, and then a magical faked mating.
This was a sexy and very fun read. It was a solid five stars to start and ended in a 3 so I’m going with 4. I skimmed a few pages near the end because I just did not care about the random “revenge,” but the story was pretty much over by then.
This author is like finding a four leaf clover in a field of thorns. I love the writing in this series and basically everything I’ve read. I’m always afraid to get my hopes up, but I haven’t been disappointed yet. I will read any book this author writes and anxiously await the next one.

Sí que me ha gustado, pero…sigue faltando demasiada información además que este argumento me ha dado mucho apuro. El personaje es demasiado pasivo y llegaba momentos que no podía con él porque parecía mas bien una marioneta. Además, chistes de una persona como juguete sexual no me hacen gracia. Se tenia que decir y se dijo.

This book was so good! I started the series with this one because it was recommended to me on Amazon and I liked the blurb. I have now binged the rest of the series and I really, really like how this author handles potentially shady circumstances. There are a couple books that I'd read as an adolescent (we didn't have TV and I was a voracious and undiscriminating reader) and when I've gone back and read them as an adult I was frankly horrified at some behaviors that I'd considered romantic back then, so I am very touchy when I can see where a situation is going. I acknowledge that not everyone will see it the same way but for all the books I've read so far by this author, I haven't once thought something was handled poorly, even though a perceived imbalance of power occurs frequently.
I'm still a voracious reader and I'll binge an author when I find a new one, so over the past couple weeks/months I've read some shitty stories and also some good stories with shitty writing, and I know I'm just reviewing one book here but all of this author's books I've read so far have contained excellent writing (I did not know of the word "susurrus" so that was quite a delight, although I don't recall if it was in this book or not), with great stories and wonderful (mostly wonderful; looking at you, Arik) characters. I read this series on KU but have now purchased it, and will purchase as many of this author's books as I can up to and including any pre-orders.

This was a decent read, but not quite on par with the others in the series. I think it tried to have too many plot elements going on, and would have been better if it’d focused in more on the amnesia/magic/prison stuff.
I had some trouble connecting with Ash, given his amnesia. If the amnesia plot line had been explored more, or even mildly resolved earlier, I think that might have helped. He was just a little too much of a blank slate.
I was glad to see Victoria wasn't just a one dimensional Evil Woman trope - though with the way that was resolved...why didn't they just do that sooner? I would have liked more time spent on this family drama/dynamic too. It took up a lot of Drew's headspace early on, and it was resolved extremely quickly.
The end was very abrupt, and felt like a lot of things were left hanging. Magic? Amnesia slowly being resolved? Drew's family? ???
Still, overall, it was a fun easy read, just a little frustrating with all the floating pieces.

I definitely never want to read about sex scenes between two people when one of them can’t feel anything (no pain, no pleasure, no taste), regardless of how much he/she wants it or is ok with it.
I also never really got a chance to like Drew, since he’s absolutely nuts for most of this book (which is part of the plot).

What an absolutely perfect ending! I'm not crying, why on earth would I be crying? Oh my LORD, Ash and Drew are so utterly wonderful! Dang it, I wish there were more stories in this world to read already. Guess I'll just have to wait. Impatiently.

Another fantastic addition to this series. Lost and Bound introduced the nightmare that these two also escaped from, and now they have their story.
Pathos and humour are created by Grayson and her tortured heroes, Ash and Drew.
Sexy reading, knotting included.
Funny.

The Armitage mates... dear lord. Anything they're in I'll read. Their dialogue is funny, snarky, me-ow. I love them! I loved being with them again.
The ending is happy but felt like maybe, I don't know, there could be more on these two. Crosses fingers, because I need it.
As per the usual in this series, there is only one POV. It's Ash's. That's him on that beautiful cover.

This book was just OK - the romance felt a bit insta to me. I think I was expecting to see further development on the larger plotline that's been running through all the books, but nothing new actually happened on that front. 3 stars is because we have a hilarious cameo from Nate, Arik and the Armitage gang.

unfortunately my least favorite of the bunch. even though the first few chapters were enticingly promising, the story quickly pivoted downhill, and i struggled to feel the couple’s chemistry. ah well, onto the next!
side note: the sister happens to share a name with me and…

I think Eliot Grayson just gets me. This book probably had two of the sweetest MCs we've seen in this series, with neither of them being too snarky or snippy (I'm looking at you Nate lol), and it just totally worked. On top of that, it had so many things I absolutely love, pining, the best hurt-comfort, and an outrageous amount of heat. The glimpse into the life of most of the pasts MCs was also a fun little touch. It was one of those books I couldn't put down, and was definitely rooted for the MCs to just figure out they were meant to be already.

Ahhhh, so many of my favorite tropes! The angst, the hurt-comfort, the pining, the not-quite dubcon, and the guilt!
