“I’m waiting for Nurse Angela now. Nurse Angela is going to die today.”

John Doe is a short thriller in accessible language (a Cambridge level 1 story).
A man wakes up in a hospital with alleged amnesia. Thrills follow.

This was a read-along with a favorite student, as she read it in her native school’s English class.

This is a cool series with appropriate-English, interesting stories for different levels and ages of English language learners.
And if anyone from the Cambridge English Readers series is reading this, I’ll totally write the next one 🙃.

1. ANTOINETTE MOSES, CAMBRIDGE, Level1

2. 50min.

3. name/doctor/nurse/memory/lie/question/hospital

4. How many hospitals does your city have?
There are 10 hospitals in my city.

5. This book, "John Doe", is a suspense story. One day in a hospital there is a man who seems to forget himself. So his doctor, Doctor Cox, and his nurse, Angela, asked him for himself. But he could not answer. Then Dr.Cox knew that he was okay except losing his memory. So Dr.Cpx sent him to the house where people who didn't have theiuse lived. But the man, "John" went to the Angera's house, not the house introduced in the hospital. He wanted to kill her. In the same time, Dr,Cox watched TV. He saw the man who really resembled John on TV. People on TV seemed for the man as a cromer who killed another woman. So the doctor phoned police and Angera. But she had already been with John. So Angera threw a cup of hot coffee to John's face and go out of the house. Then police came into her house and caught him.

This book is very interesting for me. Why do I read this book, I listen to same name music. John Doe is person Who doesn't have real name. I am interested in this!

"When we find a man and we don't know his name," said Doctor Cox, "we call him John Doe. Can I call you John?"

K mé spokojenosti přispěla i kvalitní audionahrávka.

U edice English Readers rozhodně zůstanu a mohu ji doporučit i dalším zájemcům o zdokonalení své angličtiny.

1)Antoinette Moses ,Cambridge,Level 1

2)6/5=62minutes

3)1.the man 2.the doctor 3.amnesia 4.kill 5.TV program 6.photograph 7.coffee

4)Do you have amnesia? Are you a forgetful person?
-I don't have amnesia. But I think I'm a forgetful person.

5)I was charmed by this cover. This story didn't suit for me. But I could learn something from this. 'John Doe' is used for unidentified person. We say "How are we today?" when they mean "How are you today?". That's what you say to very small children.

Seven words summary / a man, hospital, doctor, nurse, amnesia, murderer, lie
Q Have you ever told somebody a lie?
A Yes, I have. I think sometimes to tell a lie is not bad for someone. But I don’t want to tell a lie as much as possible.

It was easy to understand this story, so I was able to read this book soon! The ending of this book was exciting and I really enjoyed it!
