Sarah is sick of winter, Eddie has nobody to play with, Lance the turtle is tired, and Herbert the mouse wants to get into another room, and readers can help them all by simply turning the page
A great book for showing that reading changes things. In it, the reader has the power to change winter to spring, make friends, help a turtle over a big hill, make a fat pig skinny, clean a room...which is really quite realistic, when you think about it. Squirt laughed, anyway. Later I will explain the philosophical ramifications to him. Oh right. He'll be out of the room before I start.
Quick! Turn the Page! is an interactive book for the young ones. Turning the page allows a mouse to scamper past a cat unseen, an Easter Bunny to save his eggs, and a snowball aimed for someone who looks a lot like the author....well, you'll just need to find out. Laugh out loud funny for the littles.
My daughter loved this book as a child. Today, my grandson is enjoying it too. The only part she didn’t enjoy is the part where the older gentleman gets hit with a snowball. He reminded her of her papa, and she thought it was mean.
This book had potential, but partway through it veered off in an unpredictable, random way. And in many cases, I didn't feel any urgency was required for turning the page to make a change.
