Classic art from the archives of DC Comics is combined with some never-before-published work to survey the nature and history of the hero Superman, discussing his birth, career, secrets, equipment, and enemies.
Compared to many other "Guide to..." Super hero books, this ranks amongst the worst, I cannot fault the physical quality of the book as there are great high-resolution images from Superman Comics all the way from the humble beginnings of Action Comics #1 to the newly revamped New 52. This book recycles many elements from earlier books in the DC line but still gets you up to date to the many storylines/arcs that DC has released over the years, I think a greater effort could have been made to make this book more special and unique, it just seems like they have played it safe with this one.
This book is extremely helpful with superman. It shares his secrets, his power, the villains, and just about everything else. Scott Beatty is a great author for this book. He unleashes the fictional facts about this super hero, and he captures everything that was either good or bad in the way he his.
