Broken Mate

Rate this book
Sariel was always going to be a little damaged, but I knew that. It didn’t make him any less to me—it just made me worry about him. Pressure. There's no escaping the weight that threatens to drag them down every time they pause to breathe. The Upper Council is failing, the Free Kingdom is overwhelming, and there's nowhere left for them to run to. Aria and Sariel watch as the world slowly begins to fracture, everyone picking their sides and making stands. They decide to make theirs, too.

I received Broken Mate in return for ah honest review from the author.

The war is growing as alliances are being drawn in the sand. The shifters have taken a stand against the council leaving them on the doorstep of the resistance. Things are starting to take a positive spin as they are starting to change but it's short lived as the darkness is looming around every corner.

I love Aria and Sariel even if they aren't in "love exactly" yet with each other the connection they have is sweet and not rushed. I found it refreshing that they have this amazing bond but it's not forcing insta love. It really just forced them together so they could figure out their relationship at their own pace. I love getting to know more of the group as the series has progressed I love Reese she's my second favorite character as the only human tossed among the monsters.

I love this series so much it's been a very emotional whirlwind ride and I'm not ready for it to end. That author has done a beautiful job creating a captivating story that is hard to put down. I ended up reading Broken Mate in one afternoon. I loved every moment of it even when it made me cry because of the story. The Fallen Mate series is beautifully written it's my favorite by the author she's done an amazing job creating a story that just get's better with each book.

I'm not sure if I'm ready for it all to end yet I want more. I feel like I could easily do several more books in this series alone. Plus maybe more books set in this world. The hybrids is an interesting concept the author has put her own unique twist on it. I love the different twist on the werewolves and angels I found it refreshing and intriguing. Highly recommend this series if you are a fan of paranormal romance the author does an excellent job creating a beautiful story and world.

These read as if they're short novellas and if I wasn't so invested in the storyline I would stop reading. Honestly, I enjoy Sariels POV - he's beginning to develop as a character and there are some really interesting characters with way more depth entering the story. But if Aria "giggles" for no good reason one more time .. . Way to take a good, interesting, coming into herself female lead and absolutely ruin her. Shes gone from a resiliant woman to a ridiculous 15 year old. It makes the bond feel insincere.

Also, the two aren't virgins, they have this crazy bond, are totally into each other, share a bed every night, she's "ridden his face" and they're not having sex? Especially when they knew it would solidify their bond and give them awesome powers. Their relationship has had zero progression in 5 books. 'Bang your head on the wall' frustration at the lost potential of these books, they're so close but not quite there.

The 3 stars are for the storyline and sideline characters that are interesting enough to keep me reading.

EDIT - all the super interesting characters are now either suddenly and with no build-up dead, or less interesting. W.T.F.

Sariel is still trying to recover from the time he was kept by Lucifer, and Aria is feeling guilty that she did not realize that Sariel was not Sariel but in fact was Barimuz. As they are trying to cope with this Sariel’s brother Mikey is killed by the Fae. They then find out that another brother Grel was also killed. They must be very strong to handle this kind of trauma when a normal person breaks into pieces. Then things fall into chaos as they are once again attacked. This team can’t catch a break no matter what they do. I love Sara’s stories and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Aria and Sariel are still in the fight of their life while still trying to navigate their fated mate situation. The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are moments where you couldn’t help but tear up because these two have been through so much and have suffered through so much that you just need them to have their HEA. This book had me on an emotional ride to say the least and I am definitely not sure I am ready to let these characters go.

Can things just go right for them for a change? This has to be the most heartbreaking story in the series. Everything just keeps going wrong for Aria, Sariel and everyone they hold dear to them. Constantly fighting for survival and every time they think they have a break and can relax, the next wave hits with such a force how can they ever come back from that. Very emotional but a fantastic read. Let's just hope the next one they can finally put the world right.

I really love the slow build up with Aria and Sariel even though they are fated mates they aren't instantly in a relationship. They are building and growing and getting to know each other more as everything thing around them is chaotic. And with the shocking loss and that crazy ending reveal you just know the last book will blow your mind. I really can't wait for it

So this installment had just as much action and twist and turns as the rest. Aria and Sariel are still learning about their fated mate bond. The resistance suffers a huge blow and is desperately trying to come to terms while keeping everyone safe.

After everything that has happened with Sariel & his mate Aria in the previous stories with war, friendships, love & alot of others has made life with their friends so hard. Having Sariel's family treat him & his mate like crap, I wonder why Sariel has given up on them especially his father after being told he isn't the only good angel/son. That's gotta hit his heart really heart. I thoughly liked the part of where Sariel had his painting episode/s which showed the past, now or the near future. I feel that this series is a serious & heartfelt one that Sara has written the best in my opinion. I would like another series like this written, but in the future (5 years) ie; kids/pups, house, job etc for Aria & Sariel & to have a better future without the war in the free kingdom with their friends too.
