Reiichi and Arena's temporary linkage aboard the Special Train is nowhere near over when the two make their first stop on the route: the decadent and dangerous Sasuta Shima. While working fast to complete the test assigned for them there, old faces show up to put the two away for good! They must face a match of wit and luck and in the end, see if they are both willing and ready to continue their journey on the Special Train.
This story is very well told. I don't much like the nun character, but given what I've learned about how Christians treated native Americans, Christianity probably deserves her.
Reiichi and Arena continue on the Special Train in a forced alliance (they're handcuffed together). Reiichi and Arena face increasing peril as they are pursued by the bounty hunters Arena's grandfather sent after her--and as they try to complete their homework.
lively story, fun art (or is it the other way round?). although Liae makes a reappearance, argh. if i could throw a character across the room it would be her - i can't stand her mopey, self-involved little face.
