This is a different kind of book. It can be summed up in one word; Weird.

Cover
The cover is really cute. To a degree I didn’t get what I was expecting with what the cover looked like.
There is a little bit of a creative dramatizing happening. With that being said the book is as weird as the cover shows.

Interior
Story
It’s a very creative and simple story. Apparently the third one in the series. It’s crazy and goofy and great for early readers. Everyone and I mean everyone seems very pushy in this book sort of like you can see all the characters trying to push to get the ball rolling into the climax of the book. Basic fun and at the end it's like, "Well that happened."
Art
There is a lot of art in this book. With a picture on every page there is a lot to look at. While the art is basic outlines but it doesn’t cheat you with lack of design. It’s well done.

Although it is nit realistic at all, it is a cute story about a dog who chews gum. I think that my niece will find it very humorous and will have a lot of questions about the properties of gum. We can set her straight on that later. It is a little worrisome because the children in it are mean to each other and don't respect boundaries. Although there is *some* punishment for it, I think it will be overlooked. I only gave it to my niece because she is sensitive enough to recognize the acts as mean and inappropriate while finding the gum scenario hilarious.
