Warning: Rape, stereotypical sex/gender roles

As you can see from my warnings this book is not as bad as the others. It still doesn't live up to the first book, however.

There is an overly long recap at the beginning of this book, and often the focusing on certain characters often shifting in time when we do so, and the stories within the stories slow down the pace so we can't remain excited or focused on the main plot. It just leaves the story feeling weak.

The story itself was good and I like that sex wasn't the motivating force in the it though that may be me tuning those parts out.

The idea of this magic system seems very similar to the adept series where each "adept magic user is based on a color..

Still the story wile okay seems overshadowed by the sex as a highly in demand barter system.
