Camps and Campaigns of the 107th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry 1862-1865

Rate this book
Camps and Campaigns of the 107th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry 1862-1865 As Compiled & Written by Jacob Smith Co. D. First published around the turn of the nineteenth century, this is the only regimental history written of the 107th O.V.I. known to exist and is considered the second rarest among regimental histories. Following the war, Pvt. Jacob Smith of Co. D., a native of Canton, Ohio took the time to rewrite his diary and add recollections of other veterans of the (German) regiment to preserve the compelling stories of the 107th. Comprised of men primarily from Stark County, Ohio, the 107th participated in the Battles of Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, among others throughout the war. This reprint of Smith’s book “Camps and Campaigns of the 107th Ohio Volunteer Infantry” is an exact replication of his well-written work, complete with regimental roster and index.
