This is excellent if you like really long rambling New Yorker articles about fashion from the 80s.

I worked my way through this collection of journalistic reports despite feeling somehow dissatisfied w/them. I don’t exactly recall the substance of Fraser’s earlier book, The Fashionable Mind, and I wonder if I enjoyed this less because it was different or because my tastes have simply changed.

The book did make me very conscious of how much my life has changed over the past several years. I recognized a lot of the people, places, events, and trends mentioned in this book, but I haven’t a clue about what has replaced them.
