About the author

Stella Shepherd, a Lancashire lass, studied medicine at the University of Nottingham and subsequently workd as a hospital doctor, specialising in radiotherapy.

She became a full-time writer and her first novel featuring Detective Inspector Richard Montgomery was 'Black Justice' (1988). DI Montgomery then featured in further medical mystery books by the author.

She lives near Colchester, Essex, with husband John Martin, who is a pharmacist.
