Growing to Maturity: A Messianic Jewish Guide

Rate this book
Disciplining is one of the most important functions of a congregation. A disciple is someone who has learned to be like the master in essential, spiritual, and moral qualities. It is someone who lives accordingly to the lifestyle taught by Yeshua and his disciples.

This book is a great introduction to the Messianic community. While it specifies Messianic JEWISH, this book can easily apply to the community at large. The author is very knowledgeable. His scope is near comprehensive, while introductory in nature.

On the other hand, some of the language he uses is authoritarian in tone at times. The messianic attitude I've experienced from practitioners at times came across as arrogant and the faith to practice. It was also frustrating he would quote sources without notations.

Overall, I highly recommend this book for its introductory use. The questions at the end of each section are good those using for "discipleship" reasons. The verses to memorize section were also very useful.

A wonderful guide to grow in my discipleship with Yeshua. It was easy to understand and met my needs well.
