But should Emma trust her life and heart to Gary Bedford?

Walking down the street and watching people go about their day-to-day life, but thinking strange, even dangerous things.
I still clearly remember the day I stood at the traffic lights in downtown Melbourne. There she was, sitting in her car, waiting for the lights to change green. Tapping her fingers impatiently.
Something inside my head went off. Kaboom! An idea formed, and became the beginning of a novel.
Instead of sitting patiently at the lights, she was nervous, extremely anxious as she was being pursued by killers. The next thing she knew, an angry, crazy man was slamming her windscreen with a sledgehammer and she was running for her life.
Emma Larkin loves her little girl, Sally, and will sacrifice her life for her. She has no idea why someone wants her dead, only that it involves her ex-husband. For months now they have been on the run trying to be one step ahead of the villains. Yet for some reason she cannot say no to a man like Gary Bedford. Something about him makes her feel safe and cherished. This is something that has been missing from her life for a while. Meeting Gary not only changes her whole life, but for the first time in her life she knows they will make it alive. One minute they are casually seeing each other and somehow Gary has gotten under her skin. Can she live each day with Gary knowing she is risking their lives? Her little girl loves Gary, and his whole family, which puzzles her more for she is usually shy around people. Can she just leave the little town and Gary without losing her heart to him?
Gary Bedford is an undercover investigator and loves his work. He’s seen many things in his work but something about Emma Larkin pulls at him. Not only does she pull at him, but her little girl, Sally, brings out protectiveness in him he never knew he had before. Something or someone is after Emma and he has no idea what it is. Gary knows that he’s found the woman of his life, but Emma is determined to keep her heart intact. He knows he can keep her safe with his family but he wants her for himself forever. Emma is determined to not fall for him, but nobody told him that love was going to be easy. Can he be there when she really needs him? Can he find out what it is she has that the bad men want before it’s too late?
Love, action, and suspense are all in one great book by Cheryl Wright that will keep you entertained all the way to the end. I loved that Emma Larkin is no damsel in distress, but a fighter all the way. Here is a mother with a smart little girl trying to stay one step ahead of time no matter what the situation is. Now Gary is definitely a macho man trying everything to keep Emma safe even when she denies the help. Together these two were great working with one another and finding love. With all the suspense and action in this book it was great to see love bloom in an unusual way between two people so needing love.
Emma, a young widow with a daughter is on the run. She doesn't know what they want but she knows it's to do with the murder of her husband. She meets Gary an undercover cop and her past unravels. Was she really that naive as to what her husband had been into? I felt she let Gary into her life too easily after being so scared. Also the fact that he kept her in the dark about everything and yet almost bullied her into marriage made me dislike him. The story was good but I felt Emma was quite a contradiction. I enjoyed the journey through my home town and a glimpse of our history.
Saving Emma has got it all murder, mystery, secrets and love. Strong characters that will fall in love with. Emma lucks up and meets a family of law men and she desperately needs their protection. This story will take you on a amazing adventure. Action packed with a creative story line. I highly recommend you read this story and all titles by Cheryl Wright. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
One of the only books I am going to be reading over again and waiting for a sequel. I love the main characters who are strong and determined to get to the bottom of the truth. Has a very surprising twist. Kept me up late and it was so worth it.

Saving Emma starts out a bit choppy, but smooths out soon enough. Cheryl Wright starts out with mere glimpses into what is going on and takes just a bit to hook you. Once you get hooked though, you want to continue to see how the mystery unfolds. Emma is a young widow with a precocious 4 year old daughter. You realize from the very beginning that life has been difficult for them since her husbands murder. Someone thinks she has something that they want, but she has no idea what it can be. Her and her daughter, Sally, run every time they seem to catch up to her.
They have just started over in a new town when Emma meets Gary Bedford, an undercover cop that is on a much needed break. He is instantly smitten and does what he can to get Emma's attention. Soon, Gary and Emma become embroiled in mystery as another break-in occurs. Emma comes clean with Gary about who she really is and why she must run again, but Gary disagrees. He wants to help them settle everything so Emma and Sally can live a normal life...hopefully with him.
The story is good. I love Gary's family, who instantly welcome Emma and Sally as one of their own. The characters are likable and well developed. It isn't one of those mysteries where you 'know who did it' until it is revealed. The mystery is finding out 'what' they want before it's too late.
I enjoyed the story and all of the characters, but parts of it where a little too hard to swallow. Emma and her daughter have been on the run for two years, but she allows Gary to steamroller her into a relationship the first time they meet. She doesn't tell him who she is at first, and he doesn't tell her he is an undercover cop. Why? I'm not sure. Gary's intentions are good, but he keeps Emma in the dark about everything he is doing to keep her protected. The only character flaws I found where Gary's motives at why he kept secrets from Emma, and Emma letting him take over everything. There are a few times Emma does take matters into her own hands, but they are always the worst things she could do. She doesn't push Gary when he pointedly keeps secrets from her. When she finds out, she lets him manipulate her with sex. Not that sex is a bad thing, but when you've been on your own for two years trying to keep yourself and your daughter alive, she seems rather easily manipulated.
Gary's family and little Sally are wonderful additions to the story. They keep it light when it could easily become depressing. Sally is a treasure that takes after her mom with her attitude; it's just too bad Emma doesn't use the attitude to have some control in her own life once Gary enters it.
There's a lot of sweet, humorous and quick witted moments that make the story enjoyable. Even with Gary taking over everything, you like him and you hope the best for him and Emma. Cheryl has a talent for keeping you interested in the story, keeping it moving and bringing it all together in the end.
I personally had a hard time reading this book...to me it almost read like a story someone had to write for a class.
In the beginning, when the two main characters meet, she's suppose to be really skittish and yet at the restaurant (again the first day they met) she ends up leaning into him and he wraps his arms around her from behind-which seems so random since this women is suppose to be terrified....
