Very great book. The chapters are short, concise and to the point. The solved examples are really good and simple and gradually takes you to more advanced level. The exercises following each section are very well placed. I like this book, but it's not the best in the field, though. It's very good for business and economics, however.

This book was pretty bad at explaining key concepts, and had typos in very important descriptions and formulas. I'm not really a harsh judge of textbooks, but this one was terrible.

Yet another piece of real gem...!! The simplicity in explaining the rather complex concepts is amazing...!! I did find some errors too though at a few places but in the grand scheme of things and as a careful reader, you would want to ignore them. The more important thing is how well it builds the foundation of the concepts and I was so thankful I read some topics. In fact, I used this to revise some of the concepts which I had already learned from other books, or at least I thought I did. It was only when I started going through the same topics in this book that I realized where I had gaps in my understanding. I am quite confident I will revise my concepts again with this book.

I highly recommend this book to anybody who want to understand statistics beyond just a bunch of formulae. Very useful for aspiring data scientists as well who would want solid understanding about some key statistical concepts such as sampling distributions, confidence intervals, p-value and so many other similar concepts.

3.5 stars. Mixed review on this one. The book was fairly easy to grasp the concepts and calculations, and for statistics that is quite an accomplishment, but there were a few times that I found errors in the book, either with just misplaced wording, or the answers in the back had the wrong calculation or the wrong numbers used in part of the calculation. This threw me through a loop a few times thinking I had done something wrong, but I either found the error, or just moved onto the next answer and all was good.

I'd still recommend it. It had extremely good examples throughout each chapter that you could relate to. It helped you retain and even helped you understand how you could use statistics in your own job. That was very cool!
