The final book in the Chop, Chop series doesn't disappoint. In Book 8, "Alone", readers find out from Tanner the answers to all the questions that they still have after reading the rest of the acclaimed series. Although it's the last book, companion books will follow (and the first chapter from the first companion book - "What I Want" - told by Marco, is included at the end of this book).
I'm so sad this series is over. This has been a precious story to read. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed it. I'm literally speechless. I have loved David and the whole gang, but Tanner is my favorite. I definitely recommend this book because this story by Tanner fills in the blanks. This was a beautiful way to finish up the series and say The End.
Quite frankly, this was my most favorite book of the chop chop series. They have all been great but it was refreshing and relatable to hear things from Tanner's point of view. Hearing of Tanner's journey regarding his relationship with christ was also finally an answer to questions that had been unknown. In fact, this book answered many things that were previously unknown or left up to speculation. The ending was a surprise but a good surprise although somewhat odd and destined.
At first I felt like I was reading a book to just remind me about all the others that came before it, but then it got better and better. Once again I loved this one! The entire Chop Chop series is great! It has been so inspiring following these books and Tanner's story was so nice. I loved the ending! I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else, so that is all I will say. L.N. Cronk
This was the final book in the 8-book Chop Chop series, and honestly, this is one of the absolute best! I said back in book 5 that I enjoyed getting to know Tanner more. Well, this one gives us Tanner in a whole new light. This story is told from his perspective and fills in all the holes that David left in his narration. I don't think there could have been a better ending to this series than this one. Excellent read (and yes, I read this one in one day too)!
Great ending of a series. It answered many if not all questions that i was wondering from the other books. Tanmer did miss out on a lil more of the story of all that happened when they went elk hunting, i thought he was going to tell the story from his point of view because david's was so splotchy. But i fully enjoyed this book and series.
Cried and cried reading this book. Tanner's story gave a deeper background to the other books. Tanner had always been there in the shadows but I didn't become really invested in Tanner until I read Alone. Just like the first book in the series, Alone gives a strong Christian message without being preachy. The simple message is of God's love. Alone is a beautiful book.
Loved it, but did cry a lot, lol! I was trying to finish it up today at the gym and it was hard to not tear up on the elliptical! I kept it together fairly well though :) The whole book isn't sad though, it's really good - tells Tanner's story which is a great one. This whole series is the best series I've ever read. I can't wait to read the 4 companion novels too!!
I continue to be blown away at the depth of this writer's gifts. These characters are my friends now and I want them to be yours. They are amazing books! A tapestry of people who we visit again through Tanner, the one who has seemed to sit on the sidelines but really has been a lynchpin that the arc pivots on.
What a great way to end the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and will definitely read more of Cronk’s books. This is the story of Tanner and his love for Laci throughout his life. It also shows us how someone faces adversity throughout their life and how they can overcome. This has been a great Christian series and I highly recommend it.
The last two books in the series were timely for me. My dear wife of 47 years was very recently admitted to a nursing home. I read these two with many tears and sleepless nights. That being said, The entire series is one of the best I have ever read! I wish it could go on but there comes an end to all things in this life. May God bless you Ms Cronk!
This is the latest and greatest book in the Chop Chop series by L.N. Cronk.
The story this time is told by Tanner. We get answers from previous books and see how love started, developed, grew, got lost and grew again with Tanner.
Read this last installment of the Chop-Chop series on vacation last week. I love that we get to hear the whole story from the first book on past the all the other books from the perspective of another character. Genius to use Tanner to wrap up all the unanswered questions!
I believe each book got better. Alone kept me awake until I finished it. If you are seeking a closer relationship with God this book will help you find it. I recommend the whole series. Thank you L.N. Cronkite for writing such a great series.
What a great companion novel! It was great to read parts of the same story but from a different view and beyond. Not quite so many twists - but still some surprises. L.N. Cronkite has officially moved into the category of "favorite authors".
I loved the new addition to the Chop Chop Series. Tanner is one of my favorite characters. It was interesting to see David and Laci from another point of view. Alone is a must read!
Love prevails!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved this book. Tanner had me cracking up. I love him. I am so ready to start reading the companion books. Bring them on Leeanne!!!!!!! :)
A lovely finale to the Chop Chop series. As always, beautifully written by Ms Cronk. The sort of book that makes you let out a big, satisfied "Ahhhhhhhh!" at the end.
