Roddy's Quest

Rate this book
“You must search until you find God and you must always seek to do his will.” These closing words of his pastor’s benediction one sunny summer day stirs ten-year-old Roddy Stewart into action. He will do what no one else has ever done. He will find God! Thus starts an innocent quest that soon turns into a nightmarish adventure. Roddy encounters a bogus seminary that is operated by a well-organized bunch of smugglers. He is taken prisoner and shanghaied aboard one of their ocean-going ships and nearly perishes in a raging storm. Luckily for Roddy the ship is damaged by the storm and must return to port for repairs. All he has to do now is free himself of his leg-irons, get past armed guards aboard ship, make it through crocodile-infested areas, past a crooked police force and be put on trial before a crooked judge. Roddy’s quest for God has become Roddy’s quest for survival.
