With great examples and stories, this book takes you step-by-step through building and delivering great sermons. Especially useful in churches that share a pastor or for people with a burden to preach.
A toolbox of tips without much expository instruction
This book is a helpful toolbox of basic ideas, but ultimately lacks the substance to teach you how to evaluate and study the text for authorial intent. The SPICAT model could easily lead to a meandering sermon that while limited by the confines of the text selected, fails to communicate what the passage intended to get across. I wish more time had been spent establishing a solid process for exegeting the text.
