Nothing is what it seems at The Candy Shop. Your wildest dreams could be achieved or your worst nightmares could be confirmed. There are half naked women walking around working and so-called bouncers making sure nothing gets out of order but this establishment is not a strip joint, it’s storage facility. Redina Hawkins’ childhood was anything but ordinary. After witnessing her parent’s brutal slaughtering, she escaped and was left no choice but to live on the streets alone. She stole, assaulted, and ate out of garbage cans just to survive. But her run in with an old friend, Messiah “Big Meech” Torres, brings about a new life that she could have never dreamed was possible. A job offer and newfound love brings about more money and more problems for Red as a chick she works with, Zadie, sets out to make her life a living hell. Jealousy, envy, and greed rule this love triangle. If Zadie doesn’t have her way with Big Meech there will be hell to pay. Meanwhile he struggles with issues of his own. Journey into the Candy Shop where nothing is as sweet as it seems.

This was my first book reading from the author Nicety, and i started the book last night and just finished it a little while ago.

The book is a quick read and pulls you in from the very beginning. You get to met the main character Red and can only feel sorry for her and she goes through so much in this book, from living on the streets and having to grow up faster than she needed to. Red has developed such a hard exterior because of her hard life on the streets, and the things that she does to survive.

I was happy when she caught up with Messiah and he was willing to give his old friend a break so that she wouldnt have to continue to be on the streets. Reading about Red and Messiah you just grow to love the connection between the two of them, and you read it wondering when they will realize it.

Though the book is titled the Candy Shop nothing is sweet about this book, its not all glits and glamour. It shows a side of the game that can be sweet when your making money, but when jealously is the minds of others things can go from sweet to sour in a matter of minutes.

Zadie is also a character who comes in and lets her love of money cloud her judgement a she comes up with this crazy plan, read to see if she gets away with it or if she has to pay the price.

The author did a really good job showing all the characters in their own element its like you got to know who there were as you read it. I thought that the editing in the beginning of the book was really good it was great but towards the end there were small minor errors in terms of the incorrect tense or word being used, but it didnt take away too much from the story. Other than that I cant wait for part 2 and I hope I dont have to wait too long to find out whats going to happen next!!

I love Nicety's work so much!! I hope she never gets boredd with writing. All of her books have their own little twists and they are the always grasp your attention from the beginning and won't let you go until the sequel. She keeps her reads intrigued with what will happen next. Weather there is another part to the story or not, you will want to know what the characters will be doing after the story is over. All of the characters in her books have the ability to branchout and take on their own stories. Candy Shop was no different from all her other books, INTERESTING!! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this book was a 5 star banger at it's best!! Candy Shop is a must read, and if you hadn't read it or any other Nicety books for that matter, then you are sleeping on some good stuff. So go ahead and one click you some Candy Shop and learn about Big Meech AKA Messiah and Redina AKA Red and find out how their lives both change dramatically after reconnecting after all these years! Will it be a mistake or start of a love affair?

" Candy Shop" by Nicety was a quick but good read. Redina's (or Red as she's known by) life has been anything but easy. After witnessing her parent's murder, she turns to the streets. Being homeless, she does any and everything to survive. Meeting up with an old childhood acquaintance, she's met with an offer she simply can't refuse. She will soon discover however, that life ain't always sweet at the Candy Shop.

"Candy Shop" pulls you in from page one. It was full of suspense, drama, sex, and more. There were some grammatical errors. The ending was a little too abrupt in my opinion. It left me with a few unanswered questions but I guess we will find out the answers in part 2. Overall good read.

This is my first book to read from Nicety. The Candy Shop is a good and interesting to read. It's deal with lot of drama, lies, lust, emotion and crazy in this book. The main character that I feel emotional and cry, it was about Red and Messiah. I feel sorry what's happen to Red because she's been through lot until she met her former babysit Messiah.

I do not understand Zadie character of this book. Zadie is crazy, dusty and thirsty. She thought Messiah will get married and start family with her but she's guess wrong.

So far, I like the book and I will give the five stars to this author because Nicety did really good job to put out this book.

I absolutely loved this book, Red' s situation broke my heart & I was rooting for her the whole time, young, bruised, alone and yet determined to survive. I loved her strength! King Messiah was a beast! I liked everything about him, and Zadie...smh I have no words other than trifling. Danger had me on the fence, I felt bad for Alexis and that damn Pet was a sicko!0_o This story was definitely an action packed page turner! 5*'s. I can't wait for part two, Kudos to you Nicety! A satisfied reader...

Candy Shop was the first story I have read from Nicety, but will not be my last. It was a fast, but good read, about Red, a young girl who is forced to grow up way too fast. The story pulls you in from the beginning and will have you rooting for Red to make it. Although the ending was a little rushed, and there were some grammatical errors, I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to part 2!

When a young, homeless Red runs into Meech, a familiar face from her childhood, her life is changed forever. He takes her off the street, helps her get food, clothing, and shelter, and introduces her to a world she was certainly not expecting. In her new world, Red finds that life is much better, but not much easier. Scenes unfold before her at a rapid pace and other women are quick to take offense to what they perceive as her takeover of their rightful positions. Nicety does a great job of keeping readers engaged as the story of Meech and Red's journey unfolds.

Don't bother with buying this e book because it was huge gaps missing in the book that kept going back to the cover. This was a very disappointing reading experience and I will not be buying the sequel because of the this.

Good Read

This was a nice series. What I like most is she ended with 2 books. Didn't try to take it through to 4 or 5 books. Love how creative this author's mind works.
