A mixed bag of cold war suspense. The action plays out just as you'd expect. the characters are fairly formulaic. The overarching political themes do give it some value.

This story of modern "missile oriented" style of naval warfare was enthusiastically enjoyed back in HAWK days of the 80's.

I liked this bcse it's cool to read fiction set in your own home town. It wasn't great, but it only took 4 hours or so to read it.
