The perfect bathtime book and an ideal first read-aloud book, this new addition to the popular Baby Faces series, has appealing photos of multicultural babies and toddlers, and a brief, rhyming text. Babies are mesmerized by other babies -- and the strikingly candid photos in SPLASH! will keep little ones spellbound. Roberta Grobel Intrater's vibrant photographs capture the many endearing expressions kids make as they play in water -- in the bath tub, in a pool, or in the rain. Each book contains five spreads and sturdy board pages with rounded corners for safe handling by little ones, and the small convenient size is just right for taking along. Coupled with the simple, rhyming text, this is a perfect first read-aloud book sure to please both parents and children.
It’s cute, nothing crazy and it’s pretty short but my son seemed to enjoy it a lot; he asked me to read it about 15 times in a row. The lyrics rhyme so sang it like a song & he really liked that. I pretty much have the entire book memorized now.
Free board book from the library. Apparently, babies start being fascinated by other babies' faces at around 6 months, so these are developmentally appropriate?
Natalie really liked her copy of Smile from the doctor's office until some pea vomit retired it to the trash. At the library today, she found this other installment of the same series. She enjoys looking at the photographs of the babies. The text isn't that great, but they are great photographs of babies in different wet situations, like the bath, swimming, and rain.
Oliver enjoys seeing all the baby faces playing in the bathtub!
We've started looking at this book again. Oliver is now 18 months old and we point out the babies features. I ask Oliver, "Where are the baby's eyes?" and he points to them. He's got eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, and fingers down. But we just added in cheeks and he was able to point to the baby's cheeks!
Lots of baby faces, which my little one seems to enjoy poking in the eyes. The text is not that exciting, but for children who are still being introduced to story time, this book (and the other books in the series) are very quick reads.
A cute book with pictures of happy babies enjoying playing in the water. Little ones love to look at pictures of babies and this is a good book for that.
