The story begins after Chris’s time in Vegas. He is now living with Lune and his mate Ursa. Christopher is trying to deal with the choices he made and the horrible things he did while with James and V. There is currently only V left and Lune helps bring Chris back from the brink of craziness.

Ellie is searching for a mentor to teach her how to handle this new “life”. She finds Cassandra, the princess of Troy. Ellie learns about “Ho Thanatos, the good and evil in their people.

Even though Ellie and Chris are separated, they still long to be together.

Wolves, yup there are wolf issues but here is where it gets even beyond my ability to try and go with the flow and figure out where this is all going. This story is vividly written and I am impressed with creation of this totally unique and extremely original plot. It just doesn’t seem to fit together, I feel like I’m trying to put a round peg in a square hole...the more you try to make it work the more frustrating it becomes. I was hoping for more clarification and understanding with the second book, but I’m still at the HUH stage.

I did catch that there seemed to be a specific point made - the choices you make with Freewill has Consequences... now what will you learn from the Consequences...

I will still be reading on because I still want to be shocked into this all coming together in some inconceivable way.

This copy of Consequences was given to me by Elyse Draper and We ♥ YA Books! group @ Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

I've been sitting in front of my laptop for almost half an hour and don't have a clue of what to write about this book -.- So here it goes!

----- First of all, I want to thank Elyse for giving me the chance to read this trilogy in exchange for an honest review. ----------

After ending up with my eyes wide open and my jaw almost touching the floor when I finished "Freewill" (Freewill #1), which I loved , I was expecting more.

I liked this one but didn't blew me away.

About the cover: mmm.... interesting, a little scary maybe.

About the characters:
Here, we meet new characters like Michael, Ursa, Artemis and Cass. Also we spend a nice part of the book trying to guess who "SHE" is and of course we still have Chris, Ellie and the incredibly amazing and smart Lune. (I love that dog! XD)
Michael is a great addittion and I believe it really helps Chris to stay on track, Ursa and Artemis are lovely, I can totally see them interacting with the guys.
Cass is a little too stubborn and I don't like the hatred against the "Mortos" (humans) but I like her anyway.
Ellie's changed a lot since Freewill and in a good way! You'll see.
And Chris... well he is definitely suffering the Consequences of his acts in the previous book. That's mainly what his story is about.

Plot and writing:
I wanted this book to be as dynamic and vibrant as the first. But didn't feel that. It is a very good book but even being beautifully written didn't captivate me enough.
It begins from Christopher's point of view. We learn what happened to James, V and Ann and how that makes Chris feel. It starts wonderfully, but suddenly it loses strenght and becomes a bit tedious.
It soon regains strenght once we move to Ellie's POV and there we meet Cassandra and learn about the Ho Thanatos and the Daimonion To.
This book has a way more complex plot than the previous one because we have items and myths from several cultures and many creatures (we go from Greek mythology to wolves packs to Faeries) I believe there are a few loose ends (sometimes I got confused) but of course we still have book 3 to solve that.

Nonetheless I am looking forward to reading the end of this trilogy and see how the story finishes for the characters :)

Right after I finished Freewill, I immediately wanted to begin reading Consequences because of the amazing story line and literal techniques Elyse used to lure the readers in. This was one thing that I was really happy about - I hate reading an AWESOME book and having to wait until the next is released, BUT i got to read this one right away ( thanks to Elyse (: ) which was great. I found that this one was a little bit of a slower read, but maybe that's because of everything that happened that it was just too much to process at once ( in a good way though, don't let this discourage you! )

Now I don't want to reveal anything because I don't want to spoil this series for anyone interested in reading (I 100% recommend it) so I'm going to leave it spoiler-free but still tell you what I enjoyed!

First of all, I liked what direction the series was headed in, even before reading this second instalment. The story line is so unique and I loved how Elyse was able to incorporate so many different world cultures/history/mythology into her writing - Artemis is a great example of this - she's pretty darn awesome.

PS. To add a little side note, I loved the title of this novel, all three in fact actually. There are so many interpretations of the title that readers can come up with and I really enjoyed having that freedom. You don't get that a lot nowadays..

In the first book, a lot of the questions that I pondered about - to myself of course - while reading were answered, but not all of them. When I continued onto reading this one, they were thankfully answered, but more questions also came into mind. This made the book all the more interesting!

Of course, as I mentioned, the story line is so unique which makes the readers even more involved. AWESOMENESS! :)

ANYWHO..

I 100% recommend this series, so give it a shot! Nothing's holding you back :)

(Thanks to Elyse Draper for providing me with this entire series)

I can't wait to read the last book (see how this trilogy ends).

I loved "Freewill".... and "Consequences" was even better. (loved the ending)... ready to dive into the next book immediately!

I don't want to give much away ---but would like to quote something so very beautiful Elyse Drapper wrote in the book....

".....if the price for that comprehension was their life; they understood freewill wasn't about physically resisting. Physical resistence isn't always possible...it is mentally, emotionally, and spiritually withstanding the pressure to forget humanity's potential for kindness over cruelty--
Choosing to accept consequences while still holding your head high, vulnerable and naked....
You are stronger for the pain."

In both books ---Freewill and Consequences --just the act of reading her story become thoughts in the mind --and not ordinary thoughts --they have power --and they awaken possililites --questions --even stillness --(its like going on and endless journey through the enchanted universe)

Oh...and did I mention 'the love story'? (hmmmm, you'll just have to read this little gem to find out more)!

Just as surely that we have Freewill, there are Consequences to our actions. So goes the second installment in the Freewill trilogy.
Christopher is living a life of isolation after his time in Vegas. Ellie is trying to find her way in the brand new afterlife. Both are living the consequences of their actions. But that is not all bad. There is a lot of spiritual growth going on and new characters have arrived to keep the plot moving along. One of my personal favorites is Artemis the beautiful wolf daughter of Lune.
It is hard to review without giving away plot line. Suffice it to say, this was an enjoyable continuation of a great story.

It is rare that I read a second or third book in a series and enjoy it as much as I did the first. There is just something about writing sequels, and recapturing what was great about the original characters in a new book, that most authors can't quite pull off. This book is an exception. I enjoyed it even more than Freewill, the first book in this series.

The Christopher and Ellie that we find in this book are a bit different than the wide-eyed kids that fell in love in the first book. They are darker, scarred by life, and in many ways better for what they have been through.

I can't wait to get started on the third and final book.

‘Consequences’, a welcome sequel to ‘Freewill’, is the second spell in the New Adult* trilogy woven by the clever writer known as Elyse Draper.
We catch up with Christopher in Montana, where he now lives off the grid, while Ellie is travelling the world in search of a mentor. Once again, the author balances dark and light, good and evil, like a wonderful and experienced circus juggler. Her style, while poetic, is like a card trick where your eyes try to follow the ace that her deft hands move constantly. You think you know where it is, but it is already over there. And she has given you all the signs to figure it out, but you were too spellbound to notice.
In Montana, in a cabin lost among the trees, Michael the forest warden listens to his mysterious friend Christopher reveal his past and what happened in Vegas after the 24 hours where Ellie had become solid to be with him. Michael is only human, but his keen interest in Native American folklore is suddenly validated. In the meantime, Ursa the wolf, Lune’s mate (husky and Christopher’s best friend), gives birth to a very special offspring: Artemis the white wolf.
In her travels, Ellie sees Japan and spends some time in Africa, before reaching Greece and meeting the legendary Cassandra. Ellie is learning to control her powers, she is learning that she is not just gentle and compassionate, but she is also a very powerful empath, one that some secret organisation in Europe could be wary of.
Reading ‘Consequences’ is like catching up with old friends (alive and dead, death being relative), and meeting with new ones. ‘Consequences’ is a tale written with love. But remember: Elyse Draper is a twisted writer, who will leave you hanging to the cliff by your fingertips……. Again…….

*New Adult is an American genre between Young Adult and General Fiction.

I would like to thank the author for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. I was really torn about how to rate this one, but I am going to have to stick with 3 stars.

Elyse Draper is very good at describing this world she has created. It is different from anything I have read before. This book covers A big time period, almost two years I think. Most of it was the characters talking to each other about what they had been through in the past year. I would have preferred the story being written more in present tense of what James went through after the end of Freewill. Instead we learned about it as he told his new friend Micheal. Ellie's story was told a lot the same way. She told of her travels and experiences to her new friend and mentor, Cassandra. It was an interesting way to write the book, and show the relationship between the new characters. And new evil characters were brought in. Echidna gives me the chills. She is so creepy. Lune, Christopher's dog, has a new member join his family, and this addition added a lot to the story, and I am sure will be in on the action in the last book.

The end of this came as quite a shock to me, and I am sorry to say I am not a fan of what occured. It is still giving me the heebie geebies. I saw it coming before the last page, but it is quite a new avenue to take this series on. Very heartbreaking, I think is how I feel. Not sure how much more Christopher can handle in his life, and I just feel like the kid deserves a break and something to smile about longer, and not just in passing.

I really loved the first book, but this one felt too long and a little disappointing. I have high hopes for book 3, Vindication, to hopefully bring me a happy ending I long for.

When the judgment before us carries extreme perceived consequence, yet we still make the choice (whether resulting in action or inaction) -- that is freewill.

Part of Human nature is to make mistakes, and learn from the Consequences. Strangely enough, the result, and the effect one has to cope with following the result, is what leaves behind the strongest impressions. Our being is changed indefinitely; colors of emotions whip, and thus grace or scar our thoughts, marking us as survivors and giving each one of us a unique, and potentially grotesque, beauty.

"Consequences" will fool you into believing that you know where the scars are placed on the characters, that you can watch the affect of this unusual love story ... you might be surprised to find you're wrong, when "Vindication" (the third and final book, in the Freewill Trilogy) comes to play out its scenes.

Happy Reading,
~Elyse

The second book of the Freewill trilogy -'tempting, alive and brilliant'- Elyse Draper has continued with her absolutely good storyline with her main character Elizabeth Tickle and now her everlasting soulmate, Christopher -together- They are the strongest with the author's perception of using a new fresh and exciting story for this book, CONSEQUENCES.

Christopher now chose the life of isolation together with Lune and his mate Ursa. After his life in Vegas with James after Ellie left him, Christopher suffers the consequences and self-hatred for the horrible things he did.

Now that James is dead, there's only V. And V could no longer control Christopher. Thanks to Lune who brought him back to sanity during the time he's becoming a monster. Lune's breaking V and Chris' connection created a deeper connection between Chris and Lune. Now, Chris can communicate with his bestfriend, and Ursa as well. Along with his new friend Michael, Chris is starting to move on from his nightmares, waiting for Ursa's birth, coping everyday without Ellie and finally sharing his secrets with Michael.

On the other hand, Ellie kept her promise. She travelled around the world to find someone who'll teach her. She met her mentor in Athens, Cassandra. Yes, the legendary Cassandra. The Princess of Troy and the Prophetess. Cass taught her a lot about the Ho Thanatos, the good and evil in their kind and the human kind.

The love of Ellie and Chris could not be stop by their separation. Everyday, they long for each other. All they can do is prepare themselves for they know, someday soon... they'll be together again.

Frustration!!! Frustration!!! Frustration!!! That's exactly what I'm feeling right now. Can anyone tell me where this story is going???!!! I was expecting some clarity in the second book since Freewill left me with a lot of question marks... But with Consequences, all I got are more question marks and now I'm putting exclamation marks as well!

At the first chapters, I stopped many times confused if I am reading the right book. Is this really the second book? Is there a mistake? You see, at the start, the story skipped everything that happened in Vegas, where I'm expecting it to begin. Then, bit by bit, there are the flashbacks and retelling of Michael of what happened in Vegas to Michael. I got the point of the writing style, since of course, you'll be hitting two birds in one stone. Introducing the new characters in present and as well explaining the past. However, there's a bit of disappointment in my part. I feel like what happened to Michael in Vegas is such a very important part of the story that it got wasted by just telling it through flashbacks.

Then there is this case that the story suddenly focused with Lune, Ursa and their daughter Artemis. Now, the story was all about the wolves??? what??? with no explanation and all... there's not even a hint what's the connection of Ellie and Chris with the wolves before rambling all about these majestic creatures. Ellie and Chris pushed to the background. I totally adore Lune, I already mentioned that in my review of Freewill, but it's just... can we take the same road? I'm really getting confuse here.

With Ellie, it's all about Ho Thanatos, flashbacks on her part and Cassandra. Little connection with Chris' story in the previous chapters. This book is just like two puzzles that does not fit. I don't fully get the connections and relationships of each characters' story. It's like Christopher is one story, Ellie is another and one more for the dogs/wolves. Even Michael and Cassandra seems to have a separate story :( Of course I'm not saying they're not connected at all! Cass is Ellie's mentor, Michael is Chris' friend and Ellie and Chris are lovers separated by whatever reason, and Lune is Lune! There! There's the connection! Just that *sigh again

Though Echidna is the ultimate evil in this story, I'm thankful in her. Through her, I had some tine ideas of the connections I'm searching for. But still not enough. *sigh one more

Well, I'm not losing hope with this series. Call me stubborn, but I still believe this book has potential, so I'm on the third book. *crossfingers

Title: Consequences
Author: Elyse Draper
Genre: YA, Paranormal Dark Fantasy with some Romance
Ebook: 4387 about 260 pgs
Series: Second of Three

As soon as I finished Freewill (book one) I started on Consequences. I’d finished a few days ago but decided to finish reading all three before I wrote the reviews. As I said before, in my review for Frewill, I love the fact that I didn’t have to wait for the next book to come out and hanging on to the cliff hanger (which I hate) for very long all I had to do was go to the next book. Loved it!!

I still love the plot and its exceptional story line. It’s well written, again no errors that I can remember of. The story continues to surprise me with the uniqueness unlike anything I have read recently (besides the first book of course) and can’t say enough on how good it is.

The story is mostly about Ellie with a little Christopher. This second installment is more like a first installment because it goes back and explains, kind of like breaks everything down. It read more like what a book one should have, but still very interesting.

This one is a little on the slow side but still a good read.

*I received this e-book through We Heart YA Books!*

So I was a little disappointed with this book. I was completely in love with the first book in this series but this sequel fell flat for me. It seemed more slow paced and there wasn't a lot of dialogue but there was a lot of reflection especially by Michael. I assume she did this to reflect Michael's character but it got a little tiring after a while. The saving grace in this book was actually the characters. The authors writes her characters so flawlessly that you as the reader have to fall in love with them. I loved Cassandra (especially her very interesting back story), Michael was a another great character, Artemis was a great addition, and I even liked Dimitris. Even though this book didn't live up to my expectations coming away from the first I would still recommend it to anyone. The plot remains interesting and with the cliffhanger at the end, I can't wait to read the third in the series.

This book was harder to read than the first. When I really get into a book, I usually can't put it down. With this one, I didn't have that problem. I found with Christopher telling his story of what happened with V, instead of the reader experiencing it themselves made the story hard to read.

It did pick up later, and is a very original idea, and well written, but I still didn't enjoy it as much as the first.

This book was different then most books i have read. I didn't get into the book until about half way through. It didn't keep my interest very well. I tried really hard to get into it. It wasn't until there was more action did i get into it. I wish it would have had more action through out the whole book and not just the end. I hope the 3rd one is better. It did have good characters and it wasn't a bad read, just not a book that personally i would read again.
