This is a short story that brings back together Molly and the gang to solve another crime. This time, it happens at the library after their plant swap, which is a part of the library book sale. I chuckled at Molly's husband trying to start a book club that read actual books and not eBooks or audio. However, he did find a kindred spirit, James, and I am curious if he will be a part of future books.

Because this story is short, I felt like there wasn't enough time to truly develop the story and provide multiple suspects. The would-be killer wouldn't have been on many people's radar. The reasoning made sense once it was revealed.

I did appreciate the efforts to create a full story in fewer pages. I can imagine how hard it is to wrap up everything in fewer pages.

This is a fun mystery series, and I look forward to future installments. We give this book 3 paws up.

I read the first book in this series earlier this year and when I was in the mood for a cozy mystery and needed a short read to fit in between two other reads I decided to pick this one up. While listed as book 2 in the series it's important to note this is a mini mystery, it takes place after book 1, but it's very short compared to the first book. I realized this before I started luckily and knew what to expect.

The Library Attic Attack is a short cozy mystery read featuring Molly and her friend Claudia. Her husband Scott and a new friend they make also play a role, as well as some employees at the library. After doing a plant swap in the library Molly stumbles upon the library board president collapsed and barely breathing. After suspecting foul play they get involved solving the mystery. There are a few suspects and after a few conversations they figure it out. I find it harder to enjoy such short mysteries as they lack the depth and twists and turns usually, as was the case here. The mystery was quite straightforward and I predicted the murderer after giving it some thought. I liked how Molly's plant knowledge played a role in solving the mystery and also liked the inclusion of a new side character James who has a prosthetic arm.

Due to the short length there also aren't any scenes set at the garden center. There is not much vibe for the small town and trail like in book 1. And some important side characters from book 1 don't make appearances here. I feel like this story is a nice extra if you already started the series, but not a good one to pick up to get the full vibe of this series, for that book 1 works way better.

Despite that I did have fun reading it. I liked reading a bit more about Molly, her family and friends even if it was just for a short while. The plot moved along quickly and I liked how it still managed to pull off a mystery in such a short amount of pages. It also was fun to see Molly and the rest jump into action and resolve things. There even was an interesting side character related reveal.

To summarize: This is a fun little extra story for fans of this series. It's a pretty short read, so things progress quickly and the mystery is pretty straightforward and gets solved hours after the crime occurred. I find it usually harder to enjoy such short mysteries as was the case here, it just felt too short to fully get invested and have any twists and turns. It also lacks some of the charm that book 1 had with there not being much about the garden center and hiking trail theme. Despite that I still had fun reading it and spending a bit more time with these characters and having them solve the mystery. I liked how Molly's plant knowledge was instrumental in solving the mystery. I look forward to the next book in the series.

THE LIBRARY ATTIC ATTACK by Iris March
A Succulent Sleuth Mini Mystery

Molly Green and her best friend Claudia are hosting a plant swap at the library while her husband is trying to drum up members for his real book club. After the event they all help clean up, taking the old tables up to the attic where they find the Library Board President on the floor, barely breathing. Smelling an order that she can't quite place Molly thinks this isn't a heart attack-someone tried to murder the man. She solved a murder before so, hopefully, Molly and her friends can solve this mystery too-this time without putting themselves in danger!

THE LIBRARY ATTIC ATTACK is a short story, yet it is filled with great characterizations and a solid well plotted mystery. I enjoyed the friendships and the fact that while they befriended James, they still considered him a suspect.

The one think I didn't care for was how the suspect went from calm and cheerful, not to angry and calculating, but "maniacal" in the penultimate confrontation scene. The person had a good motive, there was no need to suddenly make the culprit crazy. Admittedly, this is a major pet peeve of mine.

If you're looking for a quick enjoyable read that's filled with characters you'd like to hang out with, a few plants, and a solid mystery THE LIBRARY ATTIC ATTACK fits the bill.

This is a short, fast read and the second book in the Succulent Sleuth series. Molly and her best friend, Claudia are heading up the library plant swap when they find a dead body of the library board president. When it was called a heart attack, Molly decides it was murder. Apparently he was poisoned and Molly and Claudia along with Molly's husband, Scott, were on the case. Will Molly and company be able to solve the murder or will she be the next victim? You must read this fun and fast cozy murder mystery for full enjoyment! This is a fun series and I highly recommend it. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This fun short mystery was a great escape on a hot July afternoon with characters you like and a great story that kept me entertained and intrigued from start to finish. I really like Molly Green, the Succulent Sleuth, and enjoyed her dynamic with everyone in the library during the plant swap and after. If you enjoy quick, can't put down mysteries, don't miss The Library Attic Attack by gifted author Iris March. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Immediately loved the book and commiserated with Molly's husband Scott about reading hard copies over e-books! There's something so comfortable about crisp paper! This is a quick relaxing mystery just long enough for one sitting with a cuppa. The author develops all her characters fully in anticipation of further mysteries in the series which should be a delight to read! Very much recommend this author as she has an enjoyable style of writing!

The second book in the ereis,The Library Attic Attack is a very fast fun mystery. Who knew a library plant swap could hold so much drama. Molly and Claudia are best friends and have each other's back. Solving the mystery could put them in danger, but together they handle it. Full of fun, this story is a good escape.

Another enjoyable mystery for the succulent sleuth. This time the setting is the library, where the annual plant swap is happening. When an unconscious man is found in the attic, Molly detects a floral scent on him. She identifies the flowers that were used to poison him, which leads to the likely suspect. Another enjoyable read and it was very short. Looking forward to more books in this series.

What was supposed to be just a Plant Swap at the local Library, turns into a lot of drama.
Molly, her husband Scott, and Claudia are there to figure out who tried to poison Frank.
I was gifted a copy of the book, but this is my honest, and freely given review.
It was a fast read, and I liked the characters. But, the flow of the book was a bit choppy to me.
Overall, it was a decent read.

A great short escape read for lovers of the amateur sleuth genre. I enjoy when the whole family, especially husbands, get involved. While others are convinced the person discoved had a heart attack, Molly knows differently.
Good friendships, family relationships, some interesting work and hobby information and more.
Even a book club!

Molly is busy with a plant swap when she finds someone unconscious and there is a suspicious odor. Her sleuthing skills come out as she unravels the mystery and motives of the perpetrator. This is a short novella that demonstrates the heart and soul of a gardening center-based cozy mystery series. It can be read as a standalone.

This was a very short, cozy mystery story. I liked the premise of a poisoning happening at the library and the local planet lady uses her knowledge to solve the case. Unfortunately, I think the shortness of the story worked against it because the suspect seemed to come out of nowhere. I think a longer story would have made the plot come together better.

Short novella. An intro to the series. Molly and Claudia determine how Frank was killed and who did it within a few hours. I am amazed that Iris March could tell the story with detail in 47 pages.

It's a short story which means that the mystery can't be too deep. The characters are enjoyable

Library Attic Attack is a fun and quick short story. Centered on Molly Greer, the “Succulent Sleuth,” who works alongside her friends and husband, the short story serves as a nice introduction to the series. The characters are engaging, and the premise for a cozy series focused on plants, especially succulents, is interesting. The plot, in which a library board member was found unconscious in the attic, was a bit simplistic. However, a short story format is challenging for a mystery and the writing was well done. The story left me very interested in reading a full-length book.

The Library Attic Atttack is a quick, easy and fun read.
When Molly (The Succulent Sleuth ) and her friends find a body and believe that there was something more involved than a heart attack, it is up to them to find out what really happened.
I enjoyed reading this mini mystery and look forward to the next book in the series.
