G R Beasley-Murray has produced a work that is a fine example of the neo-evangelical intention to engage with modern scholarship in a solid defense of Christian teaching and belief. He ably questions the suppositions of critical Biblical scholarship which form a "straight-jacket" which denies some interpretations out of hand.
