When a modern-day Prince Charming collides into her life, a Pilates instructor is challenged to rewrite her Happily Ever After in this feel-good can't-put-it-down romcom.
Life hasn’t been easy for Pilates and yoga instructor Chloe Barrett. She works two jobs to keep afloat and fights her way through college, especially with Jimmy, her own personal dream smasher, thought-provoking-insulter, and professional-mansplaining boyfriend. She certainly does not believe in love, and happiness to her is nothing more than a mere decision. Fairytales are just not what life has in store for her, so why fight it?
But her well-crafted walls and fences may be cracking when her life collides with Will Allentown, CEO of Allentown Enterprise. A man who possibly read the guide to the ridiculously perfect man of the galaxy, or actually wrote it. A man who seems to have everything yet struggling. And for some unfathomable reason, he is also the new mysterious client who has committed to ten private Pilates sessions with Chloe, accepting her unintended challenge to get to know her better.
Because once he did - he would surely stay away.
What is a girl to do? Living with Jimmy is hard enough without the overwhelming feeling that she’s missing out on … other things. But maybe to realize what’s truly bad for her, she needs to be reminded of what’s good?
Emma Aiseman is the not-so-secret pen name of a biochemist who loves to write happily-ever-afters.
She lives in New Jersey with the loves of her life: her husband and three children (and tiny yet mighty puppy who firmly believes he's human).
A scientist by day—she spends her time in the biotech world, questioning dogmas and working to develop medicines for incurable diseases.
A writer by night—(well, actually early mornings), she dives into the fictional romance world, swapping pipettes and scientific manuscripts for plotting swoony characters, sizzling chemistry, positive twists and happy endings.
When not managing teams of scientists or writing fiction, you can find her reading (romance, of course), cooking, or playing pickleball with her kids.
Was a cute book! Came across the author’s posting on FB in one of the book lovers groups that I’m in, and I definitely would read another one of her books!
This book was my cup of tea. It was a fast read as the book quickly drew me in. I felt a connection with the main character, and I felt all the emotions alongside her. Without including any spoilers, at points in the book, I found myself really rooting for Chloe. I loved the author's writing style. You know you are really enjoying a book when you don't want it to end. If you're looking for a true blue romance novel, look no further. I'll definitely be reading future books by this author.
Let it Love by Emma Aiseman is a delightful and quick romance read that effortlessly combines the joy of love with a nuanced exploration of relationships.
I read this book fast!. Aiseman crafts a feel-good romance story that captures the reader's attention from the very beginning. The author's skill shines through in the way she successfully elicits strong emotions, making readers love certain characters while harboring disdain for others—*cough* Jimmy, you know who you are.
Beneath the surface of this romance tale, I think the author subtly addresses the complexities of abusive relationships. Aiseman navigates the nuances of questioning one's situation, wondering if it's normal, and grappling with self-doubt. The story serves as a potential lifeline for those who may relate to phrases like "How did I get here?" or "Is this normal in a relationship?", “Why can’t I do anything right?” The narrative skillfully illustrates the incremental steps that can lead to toxicity in relationships.
The main male character is cinnamon roll and is just the best. The journey of self-discovery and love is skillfully woven into the narrative, making it a heartwarming and relatable read.
Let it Love is not just a romance; it's a narrative that speaks to the complexities of human connections. The careful exploration of sensitive topics adds depth to the story, making it more than just a lighthearted romance. For readers seeking a quick yet meaningful escape into the world of love, self-discovery, and overcoming challenges, Let it Love is a must-read. <3
I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway and I’m glad I finally read it! It was a cute contemporary romance novel centered around Chloe, a refreshingly simple female lead. I felt like I could relate to Chloe and her story, especially the part where she stuck with Jimmy for far too long. (Literally story of my life. That’s how I became a single mom. 😂) I’m really happy Chloe got her HEA and a healthy relationship with Will where they both got to chase and realize their own dreams. This was a nice palette cleanser after my last read, and I’ve gotta say I really enjoyed the plot-especially since there was zero spice. There wasn’t too much character growth overall, but I still enjoyed how the characters were portrayed. I will say I’m generally not a fan of third party POV and the writing style was a little stiff at some times, so I did take a star away for that. Overall though, I’m super happy with this book and the author. 👏🏻
I absolutely loved reading Let it Love: A Contemporary Romance Novel!!! All about Chloe Barrett and young girl in her mid-twenties who is a Pilates instructor and a college student & William Allentown who is in his late-twenties and runs a real estate and construction company for his family. Chloe meets Will at his aunts sixtyith birthday party. She unfortunately has a boyfriend who is down right obnoxious and is always putting her down. Will & Chloe hit it off, and actually spend most of the night together talking and eating s’mores in the garden, while her boyfriend Jimmy ogles a young art student who was sitting at their table. Read about Chloe & Will and how being friends can turn into a life time together. Lots of emotion, laughing, crying and plenty of eye rolling does occur. The characters are spot on and really bring this book to life! Loved reading it!!! Definite Read!!!
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and it was cute!
Chloe was brought up as a foster child and then found herself in a somewhat emotionally abusive relationship (ugh Jimmy) while pursuing her dreams of owning her own pilates/nutrition studio. In walks Will who flips Chloe's life upside down and shows her that maybe she really can have it all.
This was a cute, feel good book that had you rooting for Chloe the entire way through even though at times you want to scream at her to drop the dead weight (UGH JIMMY).
I thought this book was really cute!! I love Chloe and feel like I can relate to her, especially with having an outgoing, take charge kind of best friend. Every introvert girlie needs a strong bestie like that! And Will was just delightful! Sure, this book might have been predictable but I’m completely ok with that!! Now I have to go read the rest of Emma Aiseman’s books!
This was so freaking cute! Will is the best, shoutout to Chloe for being strong and standing up for herself, Valerie is the best best friend ever, and Jimmy… I hope you stub your toe everyday. Screw you ice queen.
I absolutely adored Chloe; she was real and oh so relatable. She's a young pilates instructor going to school and trying to accomplish some big dreams, however she's hindered by an abusive mansplainer of a boyfriend who has wandering eyes and a sick view of women.
Once she meets Will it's all changed - he's always there being a supporter, a cheerleader for her plans and dreams. When she needs to be rescued he is there and he gives her plenty of space to heal and figure out her own needs. Their story and the overall development of these characters is what kept me reading as I just absolutely enjoyed the build-up.
The transformative power of love is demonstrated time and time again, and it was a joy to read this authors work - I will definitely be reading more of hers!
This is the best feel good romance book I've read in a long time! The author did such a great job of describing characters and emotions. I was easily able to root for Chloe, and was eager to follow her on her journey. The storyline is interesting, and hard to put down -- a definite page turner. I loved how the chapters ended with a cliff hanger, and how each one told a story. Very impressive for a new author!!! Highly recommend!
I wasn't sure about this book at the beginning. I didn't like either of the characters that were introduced, including the MC. I stuck with it because I liked the writing style and I'm so glad I did. By the end, I loved the MC and all the rest of the characters. This was the first book I've read by this author and I'll definitely read more.
4.5 stars: honestly was a cute cheesy romance book. Chloe starts the book in an abusive relationship. You hate her boyfriend and cannot help yourself but hope they breakup asap because he’s so cringe. Then comes Will - Mr. Perfect. He can do no wrong. He wins over Chloe and courts her to a relationship. His family hates her. How will they survive that? Easy, money doesn’t solve all problems. Super easy quick read with a happy ending.
Chloe has had a rough go in the game of life from bouncing between foster homes as a kid and then having a boyfriend who wants to change everything about her to suit his needs.
To make it all more stressful, Chloe has been working two jobs and trying to obtain her health science degree to become a dietician.
Just when her boyfriend becomes unbearable with his verbal and mental abuse, Chloe meets Will, a rich handsome guy who loves Chloe for everything she is. But knowing he can't be with Chloe, he settles for being her friend until Chloe is ready for more.
I really loved how well Chloe situation with verbal and mental abuse from her boyfriend was handled and being able to see her blossom into the person she was meant to be.
The characters were well rounded and it was easy to love them.
And the relationship between Chloe and Will was something that kept me reading this constantly.
A quick and somewhat cute read about not giving up on your dreams.
I enjoyed reading Chloe and William's friendship develop. Chloe was an okay FMC, she wasn't very strong/confident thanks to Jimmy (her ex) but she was genuinely good person who worked hard to achieve her dreams. William had a very cheerful attitude and was attentive/protective of Chloe, even as friends.
I did not enjoy this author's writing style and use of punctuation. There was at least one "!" or "?!" in every paragraph where there was dialogue and that drove me crazy. There were also a couple of inconsistencies here and there, and the ending was okay.
I’m a 54 year old woman with two daughters and Chloe’s mindset and attitude toward her abusive boyfriend was ridiculous and frustrating. So Chloe was what 23? Not my favorite age range to read about and I generally avoid these kinds of books because I get frustrated and annoyed couple that with boredom.
This was a cute story, where Mr. Right comes along and it is instantly obvious the two main characters will wind up together. Unfortunately, his mom seems Chloe as not good enough for her son, while pushing him towards a woman that she thinks is a better match. It was a sweet story, though highly predictable.
Breezy read, a well written book. It was an easy read. I could not keep the book down once I started it. It can easily be used to make a Bollywood movie. It's a new take on the regular boy meets the girl story. Very well written for a first time author. I am looking forward for the next one..
The ending of this book was cute, but it kindof fell off in the middle and was a bit boring to be completely honest. There’s also quite a bit of grammatical mistakes which was a bit annoying as it throws off the reading flow. Love the idea of the story though.
