Rate this book
With This Book it's OK to Stop and Stare! Fender benders and motoring mishaps are nothing unique to this decade, as you'll see in this unique collection of accident-scene photos from the '40s, '50s and '60s. Not only will you be amazed at the twisted bumpers, smashed headlights and wrecked "collector" cars, you'll enjoy author John Gunnell's anecdotal and very often humorous captions which tell you the year and make the autos involved, as well as various collector details. After paging through the photos in CRASH! you're certain to have a new appreciation for the safety features we all enjoy in the cars we drive today.

This is very interesting book. I'm a fan of older photographs, and this book fulfills a niche you just don't find very often. Filled with amazing b/w photographs of eary auto accidents, the reader will see the different ways that accidents were handled back then. You get to see how cars back then dealt with impacts. You get to see how people dressed. I do admit that I found myself feeling odd knowing that some of the photographs had to be taken at accidents were fatalities happened, but still, it's history. I really liked this book.
