"Can We Skip to the Part of the Conversation Where I Get My Way?" compiles together the first two years of Finn and Charlie are Hitched, a webcomic telling the story of a married gay couple, their friends, and their adventures in domesticity.
Tony Breed is the man behind the Ignatz-nominated web comic Finn and Charlie are Hitched. The slice-of-life comic tells the story of married gay couple and their friends, and over the years has addressed such topics as sausage smuggling, teenage romance, and indie rock beards. In addition to making comics, Tony is a founding member of Chicago's CHIRP Radio, where he's a DJ and helps with operations. Tony lives in Chicago and makes good pie.
This is one of my favorite comics. I've bought the whole series and it is a huge treat every time. Not many newspaper type strips capture me like this one has. Maybe it's because it's such a sweet look at an extended queer family with a huge cast of wacky characters gay and straight. Reading it I feel like there is hope for this world, and a place for us living happily with all types of people. It made me laugh out loud several times and I can't give a humor book any higher praise.
Hitched is one of my favorite web comics, so it was a pleasure to support the Kickstarter. Though I've been reading it on the web for years, it is so nice to finally have the books in hand! This first volume is such fun - the origins of Finn and Charlie before we got to meet everyone else. The whole collection is worth your time!
