An exotic landscape does not necessary equal a stunning photograph—but knowing the secrets of the professionals helps. This sumptuously photographed guide shows both accomplished amateurs and snapshot-taking tourists how to hone their skills so they can get a good picture no matter where in the world they are. In fabulous detail, it explores the wide variety of available equipment, from batteries and lenses to flashes and filters; offers lessons in photographing people on location, including such issues as whether or not to pay locals for posing; discusses the etiquette of photographing religious and sacred places; and reveals how to capture the essence of a locale. Most of all, the dazzling images—from sites across the globe—are absolutely inspirational.

Some of the things outlined in this book are a bit obvious, but a few segments are real gems for anyone looking to branch out with new techniques. I a particularly enjoyed the section on long exposure lighting.
