Hailed by many astrologers as a classic, this book not only maps our strengths and weaknesses, but also reveals the true purpose of astrology to guide us toward our own Self-realization. The specific lessons of each sun sign are described with clarity and relevance, and a particular meditation practice is suggested with each.
Kriyananda (born James Donald Walters; May 19, 1926, Azuga – April 21, 2013, Assisi) was a direct disciple of the yogi Paramahansa Yogananda, and the founder of the Ananda, a worldwide movement of spiritual intentional communities based on Yogananda's World Brotherhood Colonies ideal. Yogananda made Walters a minister for his organization, Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF).
This is the best book on astrology. Even though it's in theory a western astrology book, it really isn't, it's the best vedic astrology book you can find. anybody can read this book, even those who don't know anything about astrology. It's a very spiritual and practical book.
Better than I was expecting. The approach to each of the sign was new to me and I liked that he showed how we have traits of all the signs. I have a ton of books on astrology and haven't seen anything like this one.
Many people think of astrology as simply describing the more-or-less fixed aspects of our personality: whatever “the stars” may have decreed for us. But as devotees, we know that a wise spiritual teacher can guide us in how to use our “pre-existing tendencies” to achieve further spiritual growth.
This is exactly what Swami Kriyananda has accomplished in this book. Your Sun Sign as a Spiritual Guide gives excellent advice on what we can do, given who we are, to achieve the highest spiritual expression of each of our qualities. With all there is to learn and practice on the spiritual path, it’s very helpful to have someone with Swami Kriyananda’s insight to recommend what we might need to focus on.
